Gold Star Original Chili, THE FLAVOR OF CINCINNATI, 10-ounce Can (Pack of 6).

I love Cincinnati chili having grown up in Cincinnati. I no longer live there but can get all I want here on Amazon. Despite popular opinion, I prefer the Gold Star over the "other one".

There are two great chains in Cincinnati for chili, Gold Star and Skyline. Cincinnati is the true chili capital of the world, and during it's height there was core chili coming out of Cincinnati than the entire state of Texas, but Cincinnati chili is very different. You don't sit down to a bowl of Cincinnati chili. It's closer to a sauce to make Corey's (my favorite) or served over noodles. But this was more watery than I expected, and the flavor was not as I remember it. I don't know if they changed the recipe of if I was thinking Skyline (which I ordered but hasn't arrived yet). It was also troubling to open the can to find a layer of grease on top.

If you've had Cincinnati chili this is pretty much the best stuff. Way better than the Hormel brand you can find at any Walmart.

I miss the food in the tri-state since I left. It was a toss up between skyline and gold star, I chose correctly with gold star

From Cincinnati, Grew up eating Coney's and chill from Gold Star as a kid so I have tastebud memories of the flavor from the 80's lol, I can say that the flavor has dimmered over the years and the sauce itself has been watered down so much that it doesn't even look like chili anymore.Although changes occurred, the secret recipe is still hit'n, and makes for a pretty dam good Coney sauce. Just wish they'd put the flavor of Love back and thicken it up more,.You still need their cheese to complete the meal 😉I love Gold Star ⭐ it's my favorite💚
