It was extremely easy to build. The wood is pretty thin but it still seems like it will be durable during different seasons/temperatures. It is easy to move around and reposition if needed. My 2 large dogs enjoy their new houses.

My outdoor cats use this with a heating pad under a blanket during the winter months. It's sturdy enough for this use, but I believe the flooring is too flimsy to last long with a medium to large dog using it daily. I do, however, think it would be easy to reinforce the flooring.I would say 4-5 adult cats could sleep in it comfortably. More, if they don't mind snuggling.The doghouse has 4 plastic feet that do not attach to the house, so if the house gets bumped or moved, the feet don't move with it. I'm not sure what the purpose of this is. It annoys me greatly to have to pick up each corner of the house and realign the feet every time the house gets moved/bumped.I did not attach the roof to the house because it is heavy enough to stay put in a location sheltered from full winds. This makes it easier to clean the inside of the house. It is not a hinged roof. Full winds could probably blow the roof off if it is not secured to the house.There is no door cover included.

Purchased 2 for our beasts in case of inclement weather while we were at work. I've put off buying any pet house for years because all I ran into were expensive and had horrible reviews. This version had some of the best I've read (with the exception of shipping/damage woes).The house: Sides and bottom are thin cedar, roof is a composite of layers (plywood, shingles, etc). Roof is very susceptible to damage during shipping. There is absolutely no protection for the corners of the product in the box. The box itself is thin which ups the risk of damage. One package arrived with right side of roof destroyed, one package was fine. I called the company direct to see if they could help - no such luck. Horribly rude customer service. Called Amazon and ordered a replacement package. Week later it arrived with the front and left sides destroyed plus the middle was bowed. Tired of the frustration already and irritated that I had to drag a big heavy package across down to return it (and wasn't going to do yet another replacement), I simply took both apart and pieced together one good dog house for a total of 2 useable houses. Dogs enjoyed them and hopped right in. Ours are 55lbs and 70lbs and had plenty of room inside. In fact that evening a stray kitten wandered in our yard and decided to hide in one of them. Promptly both my dogs and the neighbor's pit bull joined the party and rocked the house until we hear the commotion. No damage to the kitten or the house. So if you are wondering if a big dog fits in there, um, yes. The range listed on the package/site for this house is spot on.Overall the houses look nice, are decently sturdy, and weren't hard to put together as packaged. 5 minutes max! My damaged ones took me a few hours but only because I had to meticulously deconstruct and then reconstruct. Would I recommend this product? Meh. Only if you were willing to deal with the delays and frustrations of broken houses.

This is a great little dog house! Those that think it's not sturdy, are up in the night! This is a small dog house for a small dog and plenty sturdy for a small dog. (I can't attest to the larger sizes.)The ease of assembly really won me over. Every hole aligns perfectly and I only needed a screw driver to put it together. Because I like to do things the easy way, I used a drill to predrill some of the spots that didn't have holes yet but with the wood screws provided, it wasn't really necessary. So much thought went into the design of the house. The roof slants away from the front door so rain can't get in. It is a few inches off the ground so standing water won't be a problem. The cedar smells great and will help keep pests at bay.I also purchased the liner and flap door for this dog house and they fit perfectly! In addition, I purchased a pet heating pad for those chilly autumn days as well. My little dog thinks she died and went to heaven in her new house. My cats tried to claim it first, but the dog won out. I live in a very cold area, (we commonly get up to -40 degrees) and although I don't expect this dog house to keep my dog frost free on the coldest of winter days, (She really is an indoor dog, but loves being outside) She will love this house this fall and next spring when it's still too cold to be outside without protection. If you live in a more temperate climate, this dog house with the liner would be great for your dog year round. I can't recommend this product enough. I will try to take pictures and upload them soon. Don't look anymore, this dog house will make your little guy or gal very happy!

I have three dogs they all enjoy going in to the dog house. Two of the dogs are very large, and they also fit very nicely.

We bought the small one for our 5lb min pin , were using it indoors only ,it has alot of room for her and was very easy assembled , it came in perfect condition and fast delivery . Will post photos later

This is a great insulating kit. I live in Northern BC where the temperature can dip as low as -45C in the dead of winter. This insulating kit, combined with a heated mat and a peice of heavy canvas over the door opening, keep my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog cozy in her house through even the coldest winter nights.
