the only philosophy textbook you need
Select works of several prominent philosophers ranging from antiquity (Plato) to modern times (Bertrand Russel) are presented in a highly readable, user-friendly manner with concise notes from the authors explaining key concepts at the beginning of each larger section of text. Two-column layout makes it easy to find a passage. Explanations are very brief but informative. An overview of each philosopher and the context of his work is presented before his writing.Thin, non-glossy pages are readable in any lighting. Book is paperback and bulky, so covers will bend and corners will quickly deteriorate if the book travels at all. Because of the thickness, photocopying is impossible unless the spine is broken at the precise section to which one wishes to open the pages, but the pages are approximately the right size to fill a photocopied page without much "black space" if one is determined to do so.

Awesome !
The book was great and the quality of the books was great too, no ripped pages and the paper back book was in great condition. There weren't any highlighted pages which I prefer because highlighted pages tend to throw me off when reading. I had the book for a semester which was about 3 1/2 months and the book stayed in great condition. Really served its purpose and saved me money because I didn't end up buying more books instead I just decided to rent them.

Huge book of Philosophy
Think of this as the reader you want on your shelf that has the bits and pieces of the last two thousand years of philosophy. I'm not kidding when I say a big ol book either, this thing is huge. If you were paying for knowledge by the pound, this would be a killer bargain.

Nice anthology
Paperback has a weak spine that will eventually wear out, but the pages are bright white and higher quality. This is a good anthology, with lengthy excerpts from all of the major philosophers. It is a huge compilation: nearly two inches thick with pages that are approximately 9 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches.

Meh, I had to get it for class.
I had to get it for a class. Definitely rent this book if you have to. It’s awful.... legit it’s so awful that when you try to read it, it actually slows down time! And the words are pretty small BUT it did help me realize that I might need glasses so three stars. 🤷🏼♀️

Great
This is a massive and invaluable book for the student of philosophy. It has over twenty complete works of classical philosophy. Including many of the great works by Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Kierkegaard, Hume, Mill and many, many more. And it also includes fragments from the presocratics and careful abridgments of over forty more works from a full spectrum of philosophers, ancient to modern. All of this comes in one large yet manageable volume. So it is ideal for a student or someone who wants a single volume philosophy reference. I highly recommend it.

I mean it is my mistake
I was looking for a book "Classics of Western Philosophy". I typed exact title, but that one came up.So I thought for sure it was. I am just giving you a headsup, if it is right one you are looking for. I could not make use of it at all. Just be careful.

Great Collection.
I bought this book because of a college course that I was taking. I wasn't sure about the "classics" but I have to say that this book is great! I am definitely happy that I bought it. It will be a nice addition to my library.

Great book!
Whether you like the content is a judgement you should make yourself, but for me it is a great book that contains all major/ important philosophical texts and philosophers. It came in a safe package and was in a perfect condition.
