Love these sharpeners!
These are in my humble opinion, the best sharpeners I have used for my colored and watercolor pencils. They stay sharp for much longer than other pencil sharpeners. They also do not break the tip off the colored pencils as many other sharpeners do. These are, by far, my favorite sharpener.

Economical and efficient GENUINE German-made sharpeners
These are my favorite handheld pencil sharpeners. Since I am still heavy into the "Adult Coloring Craze" and have accumulated literally hundreds of different pencils as a result, these will be an economical option for me every few months. Since colored pencils, especially wax-based ones, tend to dull blades, no sharpener will last forever, but these allow for a sharp but controllable pencil point time after time. The downside is that there is no reservoir for pencil shavings (I use a small cup), but other than that, the size makes it easy to slip into my various pencil rolls, cases, and boxes. Unfortunately, I tend to lose a few while in use (I suspect there are at least three somewhere down in my couch cushions). The first KUM pencil sharpeners I bought had replacement blades on the sides, but I found out that my arthritic hands were unable to unscrew anything, so I just decided to just buy a new sharpener when they start to lose effectiveness. If you sharpen mostly graphite pencils, the sharpeners should last longer. Supposedly, the blades can be "cleaned" if you sharpen a few regular pencils now and then in electric sharpeners before going back to colored pencils, but I haven't really experimented with trying to do this with a handheld sharpener. Occasionally wiping down the blades might cut back on buildup as well, but for the most part, I'm considering these as disposable items. I bought the one-hole sharpeners before, but since I've gotten a few larger pencils as well, including a couple of graphite sticks, the two-hole model is the one I'm going with.Really, if you've only used those 50 cent plastic sharpeners you get in the "office supply" section at Walmart or somewhere like that, you really should try a real "artist quality" sharpener, especially if you have expensive pencils such as Prismacolor Premier, Faber Castell Polychromos, and pencils such as the Tombow Irojiten whose hard casings demand really sharp blades that will cut through the wood but not oversharpen or splinter the leads. Naturally they work fine for things like Crayola and Cra-Z-Art and other "student" or "school-grade" pencils. The only pencils that I've had an issue with sharpening are a few odd brands I've found in bookstores-such as Eebo-that have ridiculously brittle leads that shatter and won't stay in the pencil casings (even if you hand sharpen them with a knife). They work fine with most soft core pencils, though. You get better results if you hold the pencil still and turn the sharpener.Warning: While THESE sharpeners I ordered are genuine Magnesium alloy casing with German-made steel blades, there ARE Chinese knockoffs out there. They look at first glance like the Kum sharpeners, even mimicking the logo (but if you look closely it will be a crown shape or something and not the word "KUM"). The knockoffs will also say made in China. The knockoffs will sharpen your pencils, but not as well, and will not last nearly as long before going dull.
