The main pastry rolling area is smooth but the side edges of the board is rough. Not great for pastry flour to stick into. Plus the box have another faded shipping label to a person, so the board could have been a returned item, who knows.

Easy to use with the lips on both ends.... Keeps the board in place. One side has markings for pie & tart sizes & inches & centimeters

See attached pictures : 1. low quality wood with dark color and rough surface; 2. poor craftsmanship. Not worth the money. Asked replace and got a broken one instead; picture #3 and #4. RETURNED.

UPDATE: 10 months later one of the lips has started to come unglued at one end. This is a problem since flour and moisture is bound to get in there. The seams all appeared to be fine when it first arrived. We have stored in upright, in its' original box when it's not in use, and we properly oiled it before using it, so this should not have happened. At 90$, I expected better. By comparison, I have my mother's old pastry board which is over 50 years old and the seams are perfect! UPDATE #2 - The seller got back to me promptly. They appreciated the photos and they are sending me a replacement board. THAT'S GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I'll update again if necessary.I cannot say enough good stuff about this board! For starters, it is nicely finished, without rough edges or poor seams. Next, the wood grain is lovely to look at. The measuring guides are a great thing to have when you're baking multiple items that you want to all finish at the same size. Make sure to get some quality mineral oil and treat it before you start using. That extra step will pay off in dividends for years to come.

I ordered this about 14 months ago and use it mostly as a cutting board, but also as a bread/ cookie making surface. I love the measurement markings and the overall sturdiness of the board. However, a few months ago, I noticed the one of the edge pieces is separating from the main body of the board. That crack simply gets bigger and bigger. It has suffered no trauma, has never been dropped, nor do I submerge it in water to clean. I had to think twice about spending what I did for this board and am very disappointed that this has happened. I expected better quality for the price.
