I bought these for school, and the Paper Mate Flair pens continue to be one of those reliable staples that never disappoint. I fell in love with these pens after I got a pack at a local store. They write smoothly with less pressure and are very bold in color. Generally they don't bleed through paper unless you are using a really cheap thinner than normal paper. They do bleed a little bit through on legal pads so you can only use one side of the paper. They last a very long time. I lost a cap for one and ended up throwing it away 2 weeks later not because it was dried up, but because I kept leaving it places and forgetting the cap wasn't there. It does bleed if the paper gets wet so I would not use these for signing documents or for documents you need to store. They are great for everything else and reduce the hand cramping I get with using a ball point.

I buy the same weekly planners every year, and at the end of it I mark the year along the stacked page edges and store in my desk. I find these completed planners extremely useful for recalling events, writing award/appraisal bullets, all while propping up my increasing less reliable memory. Usually, I use a unique color for each year, although lately, I am embracing my love of the color purple. Anyway, my point is... if I use a ball point or (shudder) a gel pen, I don't write as well or as carefully, I make short notes and sometimes skip the full story. These babies make writing enjoyable - I love the look of the ink flowing onto the page as I write, the words seem more substantial. Not to imply these can't dash off a quick "back in 15" sticky note for the office door, although I might be tempted to add a flourishing underline ala John Hancock. So, yeah, get these, if you're stuck in a rut like me and like to have a reliable yet groovy writing instrument. Arrived in a papermate box, all 12 were there. Would purchase again.

Couldn't believe the purple ones were the cheapest of all the colors. Use these to grade math papers.

I use these every day at work

I wish there were cheaper pens that worked as well. But I think I’ve tried them all, and these are the best. Like having all the same color (I also have a variety pack) to help with consistent grading.

Favorite pens. This the color of the high school I teach at, so all graded papers have this color. Last forever!!
