This product is an excellent plant food source for aquarium plants specially heavy root feeders such as swords. Use 1 capsule every 1/2 to 1 square foot. This should be used in addition to other fertilizers that you add to the water column. The amount of fertilizer that must be used should depend on factors such as water change frequency, amount of plants in the aquarium, temperature of the aquarium, lighting, etc. Tabs should last around 3 months depending on factors mentioned above. Please insert the gelatin capsules deep into the substrate of your tank. The nitrogen, phosphate, potash, magnesium, sulfur, boron, iron, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc sources have been coated to provide 12.7% coated slow-release nitrogen (N), 7.6% coated slow-release available phosphate (P2O5), 10.2% coated slow-release soluble potash (K2O), 1.1% coated slow-release magnesium (Mg), 5.1% coated slow-release sulfur (S), 0.015% coated slow-release boron (B), 0.35% coated slow-release iron (Fe), 0.05% coated slow-release manganese (Mn), 0.015% coated slow-release molybdenum (Mo), and 0.015% coated slow-release zinc (Zn)

Works as intended. Swords were sending out new leaves often, but despite the co2 injection, carbon dosing, micronutrients, and phytohormones, wouldn’t grow any taller than six inches or so. I stuck a capsule under each sword and distributed four more around the tank. Swords and Vallisneria benefited the most from the extra macronutrients. I did have a bit of a bacterial bloom after the first week or two, 25% water change fixed that, plants just needed a bit to catch up. Bought this for the convenience and got more than what I paid for, the bag had more than one hundred capsules, around 120 I think. In a 29 gallon tank 100 capsules will probably last a couple years, but you could use them for houseplants and other things if you were so inclined.

Long lasting
these root tabs are long lasting delivery. The capsules dissolve and some of the product rose up to the top of mu sand substrate. Month and still there. Instructions said good for a few months. Osmocote Smart-Release Plant Food says it lasts for 6 months.I got some other root tabs that are more short time also though

Tabs only no bag of fertilizer
As another stated before I was in believing I would receive the tabs AND the bag of fertilizer. This did now happen only the DIY root tabs.

These are awesome!!
It goes to say something..I have ordered over 500 products from Amazon and I have never felt the need to write a review for any of them. I am in the process of switching from artificial plants to live plants ( only have four live plants so far). I ordered these, used them in my tank and there is quite the noticeable difference in my plants within a week's time. I am also enthralled that it only takes 1 tab every three months...talk about bang for your buck!! I followed the instructions and used these in combination with a liquid plant food/fertilizer. What are you waiting for? Buy these, you will not regret it.

Expected to recieve what was shown in photos. This is a diy project reselling a store product. No labels. Very disappointing.
