This is the best one I have tried.
I tried the Gvode and this roller easily out performs it. I am absolutely happy with it. Starting with the proper dough is a big part of success here. I followed Emeral’s recipient for semolina pasta dough; 2 1/2 cups (course) semolina flour, four large eggs, salt: mix, kneed, let rest wrapped for 1/2 hour . It will be a bit stiff. Smash it out to 3/8 or 1/4 inches thick before running it through at the first setting. I run it through and double it up and run it again a few times until it’s a homogenous, neat sheet. Then I’ll run it through at each more narrow setting until I have the thickness I need for each type of pasta I’m making. For tortellini or ravioli, I take it to the thinnest setting. You can see through it. It’s plenty strong too, as long as the starting dough is right. But beware, as each setting rolls it thinner, it gets longer. I cut the strip into manageable lengths as it grows. The coarse semolina flour works well. My pasta has a rich yellow color as well as making smooth and strong sheet. The resulting pasta grips sauces a bit better. Using a drier dough leaves almost NO mess in the machine. I have yet to have to clean it. The roller has a built in plastic part that is designed to break if something like a todler’s hand get pulled into it. It snaps to prevent making a 30 foot-long toddler noodle. Kitchen aid doesn’t sell the replacement part but someone reverse engineered it and it’s available for sale online. It’s a bit costly, but better than having to just throw the roller away. If I have any complaint about this product at all, it would be that kitchen aid would make this failsafe feature more known in its literature, as well as making the replacement part more available at say, $5 per. At this point people are simply tossing the broken rollers out or buying new ones. Seems like and easy oversight to fix. Anyway, a happy camper here. It’s absolutly easy to use ( if you have some experience rolling pasta to start with) and makes ravioli making fast ( if you have one of those pattern press thingys). It’s kinda fun, too. I hum Italian restaurant songs and play up the wee bit of Italian blood I have to the max... while drinking red wine. Thank you, ancestors, for all of this !

Let’s you make pasta independently!
Perfection. Happy to have it. I no longer need 2-3 kids to help hold the pasta machine down.

This was my prized purchase for 2016!
This was my prized purchase for 2016! When I purchased my 103 year old Hotel/cafe two years ago one of the appliances that came with the cafe was a very old Kitchen Aid. I would estimate about a a 1960's model. I used the old Kitchen Aid a few times, but using the KA was cumbersome and I found hand mixing just easier...well it's pasta making season, I make noodles for my cafe, and my brother and son wait anxiously for their home noodle Christmas gifts. I started using the KA pasta roller attachment this past week and I am on my third batch. WOW! I previously used a hand crank pasta roller and in retrospect, what a pain!! the KA pasta roller made the whole process slick, time saving and effortless. I am now looking to purchase the lasagnette noodle cutting attachment, as I am currently cutting noodles with my Marcato Atlas Wellness 150 pasta maker (I'll review that in a minute) Right out of the box, it is a beauty and well made. attaching it to the KA is a no brainer...you remove the round cap off the KA mixer, loosen the locking screw, slip it into the KA (has a little tab that ensures the roller is installed properly) then tighten down the locking screw and there you have it! I used it on the lowest speed, made sure the pasta was well floured and off I went. I think one of the best features was that it enabled me to work hands free, not having to manually crank the dough through, (deal with the handle slipping out of the pasta maker) while trying to guide the pasta through. I don't need to EVER buy this product again, but I will buy other KA noodle cutters! If anyone is considering purchasing a KA Pasta roller, don't hesitate, you will be glad you did!

Quality wins
I have had a KitchenAid stand mixer since the 70s (yes, avocado green!) and it continues to perform excellently. I also have a few attachments that continue to work well over many, many years. I have wanted to make pasta and already have a good brand crank pasta roller. However it doesn't fit well on my counters, is a bit of a pain to use and subsequently I rarely used it. So I decided to change that. After researching pasta roller attachments, I decided on the "tried and true" KitchenAid one. And it is perfect! It fits my old mixer as advertised. And now I can make pasta very easily and quickly. And cleanup is just a quick brush with the brush that comes with it. Very satisfied!

Finicky, but does the job
This pasta roller is an upgrade from my older version. The dial is much easier to read. Pasta roller requires a fairly dry dough, so it doesn’t stick. I don’t think I could get it to the thinnest setting without tearing. My biggest complaint is that I can never get an even sheet, so feeding into a ravioli maker is difficult. That said, it’s well-made and fits well in my Kitchen-aid mixer.

Satisfied with purchase
Dreamed a long time of this pasta roller attachment for my stand mixer and I'm very happy with it. The attachment is easy to attach to the mixer and it comes with a variety of thickness settings, so you can roll out the dough to your desired thickness. The roller itself is made of high-quality stainless steel (Made in Italy) and it's easy to clean. One of the things I like most about this attachment is that it allows me to make fresh pasta, lasagna and ravioli at home. The dough turns out perfectly every time and the finished pasta is delicious. It's a bit time-consuming to make the dough and roll it out, but it's worth it for the taste and satisfaction of making your own dish. Overall, I think the pasta roller attachment is a great addition to any kitchen. It's well-made, easy to use, and produces excellent results. If you enjoy making pasta at home, I highly recommend giving this attachment a try.

Essential for my Ravioli
This thing is one of the best engineered tools in my kitchen and once you get the hang of it, rolling out pasta dough is a breeze. I bought this to try my hand at making ravioli from scratch. The roller was the one bright spot in my first few attempts. It's built like a tank, takes seconds to set up, couldn't be simpler to use and cleans easily. As for actually making ravioli, I discovered there was a pretty steep learning curve centered around correct dough hydration, and the assembly process itself. It took me several sessions but in the end it was well worth it. Once you get all the details worked out, it's actually fun and not too difficult. And, for what it's worth, It takes both hands to manage the dough while feeding through the rollers. I couldn't imagine having to turn a crank as well so, unless you have kids or a spouse to help out, this gizmo is the ticket.

Excellent quality and precision so far very happy with it.
Very good quality and precision; when it comes to pasta rollers I advise everyone not to but cheap products ( got first another product for 50% of the cost that was laminating and cutting tagliatelle and spaghetti all in the same piece... a total disaster and I had to throw it in the bin (I even made a review on YouTube). This is just like the one that came originally with the machine. If you are making your own tagliatelle, lasagne and spaghetti as often as a couple of times a week only use a sturdy and precise product, I promise it pays back.

Great
The attachment feels very solid and is firmly attached to the machine. It works very well, exactly how you would expect.

Superb
Superb attachment for the KitchenAid. Having previously used a manual pasta roller, this attachment is faster, easier and more efficient to use, and produces wonderful pasta ... better than ever. Highly recommend.

Great addition to your tools
Amazing. I do not make pasta but I use it to make ultra thin and even crackers. Easy to clean and my favorite .

Damaged box
The box received was too damaged for a pricey item. It should be handled with care as this is fragile, attachment must be perfect to fit the kitchenaid body. Still need to test the item, hopefully nothing has been damaged
