MattelGhostbusters Ray Stantz Action Figure 6 Inches

This is a great action figure! It's part of Mattel's 6-inch scale Ghostbusters line, which is not to be confused with Diamond Select's 7-inch scale Ghostbusters line. While it doesn't have as many articulation points as the Diamond Select line, it still has plenty enough to create some nice poses. The feet bend at the ankle and twist where the boots meet the pants, the knees bend, the leg twists mid-thigh, and there are two joints at the hip allowing the to both lift and extend outward. The waist can only twist, it can't bend forward or backward, so that's a bit limiting but not too bad overall. The wrists, elbows, and shoulders can all twist and bend, and the primarly twists but can bend slightly forward and back.The detail in the sculpt is excellent. The uniform looks spot on with molded folds and zippers, plus all the accessories on his belt like the walkie-talkie and belt gizmo with wire leading from the motherboard to the smaller smaller daughter board. There is even the leg hose which goes from the leg of the uniform to the back of the belt. Unlike the Diamond Select line of figures, this belt hose is actually transparent. Unfortunately, it's transparent clear like in Ghostbusters II and not transparent yellow like in the original film, but that's a small nitpick. Another small nitpick is that the main circuit board has no paint, it's just plain black like the holster.The proton is also very detailed, and unlike my 6-inch Peter Venkman figure figure, this one is removable! The straps are rubber and colored a military green just like they are in the movies. The rear of the proton pack has the rainbow cable painted as well as the silver rainbow cable clamp, the red and blue wires, the gray crank knob, the red cyclotron lights, the blue lightbar, and the red sticker on top. The neutrino wand can attach to the side of the proton pack or be placed in the character's hands. The neutrino wand also has some paint details, like the silver tips and the red barrel wire.Finally, the face sculpt looks pretty spot on to Dan Aykroyd as seen in the original Ghostbusters. The paint job is done well, especially with the eyes, eyebrows, and lips which can often be overdone on this scale of figure making them look weird. Oh, and how can I forget to mention the name patch and the Ghostbusters logo on the right shoulder, both are very crisp.I would have really liked some additional accessories like the goggles and the trap, especially because this is Ray Stantz who always had that stuff, but still this is a great figure and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Cool figure of Ray Stanz from Ghostbusters in his original uniform. Includes proton pack and wand, plus a collect-and-connect piece to build a 3D Ghostbusters logo. A little weak, but at least it glows in the dark. One complaint is they used the same body for ALL the Ghostbusters (Thanks again, Mattel), so old Ray looks a little slim. Then again, this figure is from the FIRST Ghostbusters movie, so maybe that's not too innacurate. Good figure fro any Ghostbusters' fan!

Loved it just the right size

The box came damaged. It looked obviously old, the corners were no longer crisp, they had dents in the sides, and a chunk of the black box was actually missing. I still kept it, because I love the figure set and I wanted it for personal display, I keep all my figures in the box. If I was a collector and everything had to be in perfect condition, I would not recommend.

The Grandson loved it! I love that it made him very HAPPY!

Your kid won't be disappointed, you just cant get these anywhere. The price as is now: £18:89 is just mind-blowing. Its a MATTEL as well, which means this has to be one of the best MATTEL figures ive ever seen. You'll pay £20 - £30 on a basic MATTEL or Hasbro figure in Smyths toy store or, god rest its soul, ToysRUs. And they are pretty awful figures, poor points of articulation and just a really crappy toy to be honest. I'm 30 now and when I was a kid you just didn't have access to toys like this. If I'm spending £20 on a ruddy figure, it wasn't to be decent quality, and this thing is, and its only £18, and its a Ghostbuster. A Ghostbuster figure, show me where you can get a good Ghostbuster figure....The proton pack looks amazing.

Als ich gesehen habe, das die Figuren wieder erhältlich sind, musste ich sie alle haben. Damals in den 80ern hatte ich bereits als Kind mit den Figuren gespielt und die neuen sind noch detaillierter und erinnern ein Stück mehr an die Figuren aus den Filmen und generell an meine Kindheit. Jeder hatte seine Lieblingsfigur. Definitiv ein Sammlerstück für jeden Ghostbusters-Fan. 5 Sterne!!!
