try your local bicycle shop, take the shears with you, handlebar grips are about the right size, you may have to use a layer or two of tape to match size or search online for handlebar grips.... but then you can't try it on

No, the handles are fixed, they are not telescopic like some which always seem to extend on their own, the Fiskars 9138 is a great pruning unit.

Where can I buy the replacement blades?

I want to let everyone know that Fiskars guarantee for LIFE all of their blades! I had a lopper blade break on me once (part of a bad batch that had wrong heat-treatment) and i called them and they immediately mailed me a new blade free of charge. EXCELLENT customer service and great company!
