i need to know what you mean by unassembled, do you mean they are in a bunch of little pieces, or you have to attach weapons and shields only.

The miniature is unassembled. You have to attach, weapons, shields an the head. You can choose sword or spear as weapons. And you have a lot of types of heads to choose.

can you use super glue?

Yes you can but recommend using a super glue made for models. Games workshop has one of the best and easiest to use.

Would these work for d&d?

For context, most D&D minitures are between 25 and 32mm depending on helmets. I have some Skeleton Champions that are 32mm because their helmets have plumage. I also have a horde of 100 zombies that are around 25mm. These are great for simulating armies. 40 of these guys and say some of the romans or Auxillary troops on the other side would be a cheapish way to simulate two kingdoms in battle

where in the description does it say Unassembled?

I do not believe that it says it in the product description on Amazon ... but it's common knowledge with all Warlord products, they require assembly and painting. Here is what the description from my company (GCmini) says "This box allows you to build 40 Spartan Hoplites, wearing their distinctive Pilos helmets, long hair and characteristic beards. Also included is a sheet of waterside transfers with a selection of uniform lambda for the Hoplites' shields, and two sprues of arrows to further decorate your shields and bases. "
