Hutzler Berry Keeper Box, 1 Quart, Red

This is my second Hutzler berry box. The previous one I had for over ten years and based on the success I had with it, I decided to purchase an upgraded version. I have used the new one a few times and noticed that berries stay fresh much longer.

When I received this I was ecstatic, it was great. I was excited to help my berries stay fresh longer. Then I put it in my dishwasher to clean it, and the lid wouldn't snap on. Now I played by all the rules, top rack only, not even on the sanitize cycle. I didn't notice it at first until I put it in my fridge and it got nudged a little by and all my berries spilled all over the floor. We loved it so much we had ordered a second one, but when it arrived the lid didn't fit from the start, so we sent it back, thinking we must have gotten a lemon. Now this one was acting the same way. I was considering keeping it as a berry strainer but now I'm thinking why keep a defective product? Unless you hand wash only, I don't recommend this product. Its pricey to begin with at $11.50, but at that price it should work perfectly for at least a little while. Instead put your money into the  Progressive International Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Keeper . I've boughten 4 of them so far, and they are great. I like everything about this berry box -- LOVE the colour, the size and how it all fits together.
