Best Clear Coat in a Can
5/5. Been using for 5 years on jobs that need to look excellent. I’ve done some headlight restorations with this and it works great, and just finished painting a set of fender flares for my car. There isn’t another clear coat that I trust more than SprayMax. It lays down consistently with every can, and is a very durable finish. The exact same durability from a pro paint gun, but with the convenience of being a can. With proper preparation, this finish will last as long as, or longer than OE coatings. For around $20 a can, it makes a DIY job look professional. Can be applied on almost all common hardware store paint brands without a negative reaction.LONG TERM DURABILITY: I painted a pair of boat trailer wheels 5 years ago. The wheels have been subject to 100 degree summers, and below 15 degree winters, submerged in water, and baked in the sun. The clear has held up fantastically over all this time. The finish looks as good as the first day of application with no sign of peeling or fade.

Professional Finish with Ease
This product gave my project a beautiful, glossy finish that looks like it came from a professional shop. The application was simple, and the results are outstanding. It’s perfect for adding that high-quality, durable shine to any project. Definitely worth the investment!

Professional Finish Every Time
I’ve been using this clear coat for my auto projects, and it delivers a perfect, high-gloss finish every time. The spray application is smooth, and it dries quickly with a deep shine. It’s as good as professional products and super easy to use at home. Highly recommend!

Works fine and lays down a good finish. Empties quite quickly...
See above. In addition, it is extremely clear and shiny. No need to lay it down thickly, as I did: just use long smooth strokes. Recommended.

Great clear coat! Body Shop results at home!
This was the first time I tried this product, so I am by no means an expert in body work. Though I do know paint correction and detailing. I was thoroughly impressed with the results from this stuff. I had used some other "1K" clear coat that I got at an auto parts store an the results were terrible. Looked hazy and milky and not glossy whatsoever. So I had to wet sand that stuff off, and I ordered this after watching many different YouTube videos about this product. Before applying this I lightly scuffed up the entire fender with dry 1500 grit sandpaper. I then wiped off the residue with glass cleaner, and wiped it with a tact cloth. There are tons of YT videos that will walk you though this fairly easy prep and process to get professional results.I believe there is another brand of 2K clear available that is more expensive, but not sure why they are so much more. This product gave me, a total amateur, perfect results. So I would not have to blend it, I painted the entire fender of this car. And since this product has a limited shelf life after the 2 parts are mixed in the can I used it to coat a couple of other small things, but mostly just kept putting coats on this fender until the can ran out. I wanted there to be enough of a thickness to the coats to where I could later wet sand down the clear coat and polish it out, which is what I did about a week after I applied it. I let the coats cure for about a week or so, then I lightly wet sanded the entire fender with 2500, 3000, then 5000 grit sandpaper. I then polished it out with a DA polisher using a polishing compound and I wool pad. I then used another polish on a foam pad, then applied a coat of wax. It came out perfect. No drips, no orange peel, looked like factory.

Glass like finish.
This cost a little more than most clear coats, but the results were great. Had a problem with the old finish pealing off so I sanded a little and applied this clear coat and it looks like glass. I never thought I would get these results out of a can.

3rd time purchaser, great stuff!
This is a really great top coat clear. It's nasty on the body though, so PLEASE wear a good respirator, have A LOT of ventilation, and wear gloves! The coat is incredibly durable and UV resistant. I have used it for 3 different projects, the latest of which were my truck's new running boards. A few tips: vigorously shake for 3 whole minutes before activating, activate (make sure the click is heard - I leave the lid on, and press down on the whole can), then vigorously shake again for another whole 3 minutes, let it sit for a minute or two undisturbed, then lightly shake it again and apply. I think this tip alone would likely correct so many of the negative reviews here. I have not had any issues with orange peeling, cracking, fading, or anything for that matter - just a super high gloss that is insanely durable. Of note, I built a pot rack for my kitchen out of 1/2" black pipe, but I knew that the large S-hooks I would be using would be aggressively scraping back and forth on the pipe, so I decided before I hang it up, to hit it with this 2K stuff, and it's been almost a year and not a single scratch or any kind of defect at all. That says a lot, those pots get slid around that pot rack A LOT. Highly recommend! This is my 3rd purchase!
