The media could not be loaded. If you like to keep you knives sharp, like I do, you know that sharpening serrations, or on the go, can be complicated. This little device makes it super easy AND it’s great to drop into a backpack so you can sharpen on the fly while in the great outdoors without adding any weight to you pack. So far, I have used it on a pocket knife with half-blade serrations and a serrated kitchen knife and it work great. I have not used it on any fish hooks, as I don’t fish, but I have used the fish hook groove on an ice pick and it works great!Four stars? Yeah, I feel that the grit is a little rough and could be dialed back 25% as this is more of a honing, tune up sharpener. Use a light touch and it will restore some edge in the field. Now, for fish hooks and serrations, it’s great! Other than that, it’s a great value for the money.

I have purchased several of this type of sharpener from a variety of sellers and they all seemed to be of equal quality and utility. I liked each of them. The only difference noted of one from another was the color and/or the price.

These sharpeners have a groove down the back which you can use to sharpen a fish hook. You pull the hook gently down the groove. Keep your hooks sharp to catch wily fish. I keep a sharpener in my tackle box. Worth having extras.

Now, when someone asks if I can sharpen a serrated knife, I can say yes. Just remember to get the serrations sharp, you have to establish a slight burr then, remove the burr from the flat side of the blade with a few strokes of a fine stone.

Seems ok but instructions could be much more specific.

Easy to learn how to use with some help from the instructions. This is all you need vs more expensive gadgets. Requires patience and knowledge of what you are trying to accomplish, but in the end turns out to be very veraitile in accomplishing the desired goal regardless of the type and style of the knife. Have used succesfully on very expensive German knives as well as run of the mill serated knives.
