Great Travel bag
Purchased this bag for a flight from Utah to Key West and a Motorcycle ride from Key West to Utah. This bag performed great - Everything fit and fit perfect in the overhead bins - NO ISSUES. Strapped the bag to my motorcycle and made a great back rest for the ride back. Only one incident - The regs fit in the bottom of the bag, so when you go through TSA the regs definitely reg flag on the Xray. The had to check them which is not that big a deal if you pack everything right. Great bag, well worth the purchase

Excellent quality but not perfect
First off, like every Akona product I’ve purchased, the quality is excellent and the retail vendor was also excellent. The problem is that for the type of dive equipment that I own there is just not enough room to pack everything that I need. If you’re a warm water diver with lighter gear you’ll probably love this bag but for those who dive with backplates and heavy fins, forget it. Also, as was mentioned by other reviewers, the straps that hold the fins are much too short. With the fins strapped on the pack loses a large amount of internal volume making it hard to carry everything you need. I’m going to try and return this item. Akona needs to rethink this design.

Epic Bag Holds All Dive Gear & Fit in Overhead
This bag truly lived up to the advertising. It’s well made and perfect for air travel with dive gear.We fit everything: BCD, 5mm wetsuit, regulator, neoprene booties, mask, snorkel, belt & misc accessories & mesh bag for wet gear on site. Fins were strapped to the sides as advertised. Both my husband and I used it on recent diving trips. I flew both Frontier and Southwest on multiple planes and my bag fit in the overhead on every plane end to end just as I would my roller bag.My husbands fins are XL, so he did have to turn the bag sideways in the overhead to accommodate the length of his fins.I will say, fully loaded the backpack will be heavy. I’m 5’6” female and had long walks within the airport, so my shoulders were feeling it by the time I got to the gate. But this would be true of any bag… just saying, be aware carrying all your gear on your back is heavy. Also, we only transported gear dry. I image wet gear would be tough, but doable.

Great everywhere but fin straps
Only complaint I have is the fin straps being just an inch shorter than they should be. Few fins seem to be small enough to attach without squeezing and straining to get them done. Then they are under a lot of force at full length. That aside the bag is great and resilient and perfect for holding your gear and traveling with

Can fit all dive gear and more
There are a lot of reviews here about being able to fit a lot of stuff and I find it true also. All my gear will fit incl. BC (Pro HD or custom Halcyon [similar set-up to the Adventurer Pro]), 2 sets of regs (Aqualung Legend MBS & Elite) in the AKONA classic reg bag, 2 masks (Aqualung Look2 in front pocket & Aqualung Teknika in my BC pocket), dive computer, camera (GoPro), fins on the side (aqualung storm) and 2-3 wetsuits (2mm shorty, 3mm & 5mm full), and extra misc items (compass, gloves, DIN-to-yoke converters, spares, etc).I've flown with it 6 times now (just getting back from another trip) and have never had any problems with it being accepted/allowed as carry on. It fits in the overhead bins easily on most medium size and larger aircraft. I will echo some others that it can get a little uncomfortable on your back. Not much padding in the back or straps, but I will usually put my wetsuit(s) or towel(s) on the back portion to give some extra cushioning. It is great to have when going somewhere that roller luggage is not practical (i.e. where streets/walkways are not paved [e.g. sand/crushed limestone in Belize]), but roller luggage, of course, is much easier when conditions allow.
