Not as useful as I thought it would be

I bought this hat having the greatest expectations. Here's what I learned:1. The hat does not resist dirt, so the first time you wear it, it will need washing (brim, hat, and sweatband).2. OK, so I will wash it. You are to wash the hat by hand, but when you do, it's almost as if the lining of the brim is made of cardboard. It swells and becomes misshapen after one washing. The brim now is lumpy and malformed.3. The sweat band is only connected to the hat with two small stitches. Because of this, the band does not lie smoothly across your forehead, even tends to crawl down. It needs to be connected around the entire brim.4. It is cotton - so it is HOT.For such an expensive hat, and all the hype, I was expecting so much more. I purchased it for a trip we just made to the desert southwest. I cannot return the hat because it is now past the deadline. It's going to charity. What a waste of money.

The mushroom color is exactly as pictured - like a baseball cap with extra large, somewhat stiff brim. The black and beige color are totally different - lightweight cheap brim that flops down, and the "cap" part is so shallow that it just sits on top of your head.

I like the fit, style, and color of the hat. My only complaint is the zipper is not hidden at all. The way it’s sewn the flap on the bottom is down, so you see the zipper. I would love the product if not for this. It makes the hat look funny.
