Great product, great company. GET THE WRENCH!
The media could not be loaded. I bought the My Pilot Pro mount for simple convenience and a good view and it delivers both, but I did have a problem. My fingers weren't strong enough to tighten the GoPro's standard bolt enough and so there was some play between the mount and the camera. Unsatisfied, I called Marshall and he answered the phone immediately at 9pm, himself. Not a sales agent or a call center, Marshall himself. I told him my problem and he sent out the optional wrench that you can purchase (and I recommend you do) free of charge and told me to use it to tighten that bolt just one quarter turn after finger-tight. And so I did. And I could not be more pleased with the results.I'd buy this mount again just on the strength of that man's integrity and customer service, but I don't have to - it's a good enough product to stand on its own. The only thing I'd have done differently is bought the wrench along with it originally, but then I'd never have gotten to know Marshall just a little bit and that would have been my loss.

Great way to take aerial videos!
The media could not be loaded. I like this mount. I also purchased the swivel mount version of this product. The swivel mount is more versatile. If you already own extenders, like the Fotodiox Pro GoTough Extender 90 (90 degree extender), you can benefit from this less expensive alternative to the swivel mount. If you do not own extenders, then the extra cost of the swivel mount is likely to be lower than the cost of the extender.I found both MyPilotPro mounts to be well made and easy to use. My first attempt using this mount, shown in the video, resulted in the wavy, jello effect caused by image stabilization from a vibrating camera. The video shows the proper mounting alignment where the mount conforms to the circular shape of the tie-down anchor. Adding extenders often leads to increased vibration, so again use of the swivel mount will often produce superior results.I fly Piper Warriors and Cessna 172s. The Piper seems to produce less vibration, possibly because of the lower horsepower engine.Overall, I have found that MyPilotPro products are excellent choices for aviation enthusiasts.

Great mount, but…
This is my second MPP mount. They’re solid and quality built. The only issue is that it doesn’t come with the same hex bolt as my other one. Getting it tight is critical, so the bolt that accepts a hex driver is needed. The thumb screw that comes with GoPros isn’t ideal.

Excellent easy to use camera mount. I want another one!
This thing is awesome! It worked perfectly and was exactly what I needed to get some video with a Garmin VIRB Elite camera I use it with. I'm currently about 80% into my flight instruction and have used it a couple times to record cross-country trips. It is rock solid and I wouldn't hesitate to get another one for the other wing. I'm training in a Cessna 162 Skycatcher and it easily mounted to the tiedown loop. I was a bit worried it wouldn't fit with the Skycatcher's tiedown loops right up against the bottom of the wing but now that I've used it I see my worries were unjustified. It mounts nicely under the wing with zero problems and DOES NOT move AT ALL. The Skycatcher only cruises at about 100 knots on a good day so I haven't tested it much beyond that speed but it's so solid I imagine it would stay put at any reasonable GA speed. The design is really clever and perfectly solves the problem of how to securely mount a camera to your plane without having to modify anything. I can't recommend it enough. I'll definitely be back for another one soon. Very impressed.

Satisfied with the New Version
Camera tore off on 2nd flight in a slow aircraft (90kt cruise). I don't believe this product is fit for the purpose. You risk loosing your camera (as I did) and inflicting damage or injury to people on the ground or following aircraft. This item should not be mounted to anything that flies.Update on July 23rd, 2017Contacted the manufacturer and received an immediate response. Not only did they offer me a full refund but also a new and redesigned version of the mount at no charge in addition to replacing my lost camera. I can't ask for more and hopefully I can upgrade my review to 5 stars after testing the new version. Stay tuned.Update on August 22nd, 2017Received 2 replacement brackets and tested the one with the milled aluminum GoPro mount on the tail and the wing of my aircraft using the new camera in its waterproof case. No issues - camera remained in place, maintained its orientation and delivered perfectly steady images. This now is what it should be: a solid and easy to mount and dismount camera bracket that does not require any changes to the airframe!

These are the most secure GoPro mount in aviataion
These GoPro mounts are rock-solid! I do not trust suction cup mounts with my GoPros anywhere on the outside of my airplane. These fasten securely to the either wing tie-down ring, or the tail tie-down ring. I've got two of these for the outside of my plane, and I've got two of the MyPilotPro spider mounts for use in the cockpit. If you're serious about your GoPro video, you need some mounts that you don't have to worry about whether or not they're going to stay where you put them. This company also makes mounts for off-road and marine use as well.
