wow!
The Session 77 is exactly what it claims to be.The sound is clear, crisp, and even through out a wide frequencyOne of the best deals around. I am pleased with this purchase. You might need something larger for super loud musicI love my 77?

Excellent practice amp
Excellent practice amp, and for small venue perhaps, although I've not yet used it for performance. Incredibly clear sound, controls (bass, mid, treble) respond well and clearly change the tone depending on setting, and the amp is well-constructed. Just wish, as others have mentioned, that it had a bit more volume.

Hi-Fi, but not high presence
I play a fretless (Fender-P) bass and was interested to see how this unit sounded. It definitely is a high-fidelity cabinet. Very clear sound. I also own a Fender Rumble v3 25w 1x8 and just put these together for a side-by-side comparison.Volume-wise, the two are equal.Sound-wise, the PJB 77 is very mellow. If you were in an acoustic situation, this cab would be preferred, however, if drums are thrown into the mix, then you're going to be struggling to be heard.I'm in a band with two acoustic guitars, keyboard and drums. Playing out, the guitars go through the PA and the keyboards and I just go through our own respective amps. I've used the Fender Rumble and had no problem being heard in a small venue, but the PJB 77 was getting lost. This would also be a great amp for recording sessions.

Not bad, but not great. Definitely not a gig amp.
Pros...very articulate eq, very noticeable sweep in all the controls. Seems loud for such a small amp, loud enough for small venues with small bands, like acoustic groups and non-drummer outfits. Its small and easy to pack up and move. It came with a cool amp cover.Cons...seems loud enough, however i had to turn the amp up completely, does not go to eleven. The power jack needed to be recessed as well as the control panel. Im a bit bothered that everything on this amp is surfaced mounted. Dinky power switch, will it survive a hit?Overall this amp has alot of quality and great sound. If this amp were a 5 star it would have cost more$$$. Was made in china and made affordable so its what we want right?Update 10-28-17: finally got this amp out to a gig. It was loud enough in my all acoustic band, but i had it practically dimed on all knobs. It sounded good but not fabulous. Im perplexed as to why this amp is no longer on phil jones web site? Im still afraid this amp will get damaged because the power cord and panels are surface mounted. Im reluctant to take out to a gig again, this is a bedroom/dormroom/coffe table amp, and that’s where it will end up, This amp should be advertised as such. It was easy to transport, but the cover wont protect the control panel.
