I’ve gotten pens like this before and they were clunky and too bright. These actually write really well just as pens. The red light is also just bright enough that you can see what you’re writing in the dark or dimly lit room.

This is amazing. Wake up in the middle of the night with a thought that just can't wait. Write it down and then go back to sleep. No more turning on bright lights and struggling to go back to sleep. No more waking up your partner when that great idea hits. Turn on this pen and the light is bright enough to see the paper and write the note. As the light is red it does not interfere with your night vision or your sleep cycle. Love this.

I love the idea of these pens. But... the click is so loud that it wakes my wife up. the light is too bright. for some reason, it takes a couple of clicks for the light to turn on.

It’s great for writing. I do wish it was a bit dimmer or had the option to dim but it does help that it’s a red light instead of a bright white light burning my eyes when I want to write something in the middle of the night. I also like using the light to read my book when my partner is asleep.

I can't get over how smooth/easy these pens write. The ink just flows out of them onto the page, but not too much so. That being said, the light works great too, which was why I bought them in the first place. Whether you need a lighted pen or not, I highly recommend this writing instrument for all your documentation needs!!

At first, I thought these were great and if I had reviewed them in the first 90 days, I would have given five stars. Now I realize that that the battery life is very poor. After maybe 20 hours of writing time, the light was dead on the first pen. The second pen, I got closer to five hours. Now on the third pen and we’ll see. I write for 10-20 minutes several nights per week, so it has taken a while to realize how poor the quality. I now have some perfectly good pens with a lot of ink left, but they don’t light up. I already had plenty of those, I don’t need more, and certainly not at that price.

I tend to get ideas that i want to jot down late at night, but the idea of turning on the lights & waking up all the way stops me from doing so. The idea of a lighted pen seemed like a good compromise, but i was hesitant over spending $15-20 for a psbl novelty item. When i then saw the deal on these the price seemed just too good to be true, but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice these are and how well they work in low light conditions. I chose the ones with the red led and they are more than bright enough to easily see what I am writing so am glad I did as the white light would probably be too bright for my purposes. The pen itself is actually well made and writes easily (whether or not you choose to click on the light) so if you are hesitating like i was then do yourself a favor and grab these while you can. Im about to order more myself to place around the house and may have to hide miné from the family...
