"made in china" , how ever , still a great box . pricey , but solid . i wood pay $10 more for "made in mexico" or MADE in AMERICA .... or canada .... jussayin'

Honestly, this thing is well built and it'll probably last longer than I do.

A quality toolbox that should last a lifetime

I used this as the toolbox that sits in the back of my pizza planet truck. Its sturdy, but the latch is useless, and the upper bit just falls to the bottom.

Good sturdy build. Appearance a big plus. Holds plenty of tools.

After going through several "High Impact" plastic tool boxes, and despising the plastic blow molded cases that most tools come in (there is no space to put blades and other accessories in them), I began searching for a good metal tool box. For me, a tool box has to be able to being moved around from job site to job site and living in my shop or my van. It has to be able to hold the tools to perform a specific job (Demolition, electrical, etc.) and it has to last more than one year without losing a handle, a hinge, a hasp, or having a hole punched through it by a 10" file... I also wanted something that fell between "DIY cheapie" and "Take out a loan." Because you can always plunk down a C-note or more and get a Kennedy (they do make a great box).I bought this box specifically to hold my chainsaw kit and it holds my sharpening kit, extra spark-plugs, extra chains, chaps, gloves, goggles, and ear muffs with ease. As noted below, there are several sharp edges on the inner tray. So I simply put a piece of U-shaped rubber edging on them and a piece of sticky backed neoprene on the bottom to keep it from scratching the surface it is laid down on.CONSTRUCTION (3.5 - 4 Stars)This box is made of 0.8mm (20 Gage) sheet metal and is quite sturdy. It has a "brown wrinkle" finish and has the name painted in white letters just below the lid (a blatant rip off of Kennedy). The hinges are pretty solid barrel type and it has one hasp in the front to hold it shut. I would have preferred a three hasp closure for a box of this empty weight. But you get what you pay for...The tray is made similarly, but the top edges of the sheet metal isn't bent over on itself leaving a sharp edge along the sides. I can see a potential cut hand in my future if left alone.

Completely as expected.

Could not find a metal tool box of this quality anywhere else. It met all my expectations.
