Easy to use
We used this cloth to provide shade for our greenhouse. We just finished installing it inside the structure where it should be more weather resistant. We cut pieces to fit the exact dimensions we needed, sewed borders around the edges ,then sewed Velcro strips onto the ends to adhere to strips stapled onto the rafters. This arrangement should be easy to put up each Spring and take down each Fall. This cloth fit our plan very well, and was easy to work with.

Cannot garden without this! Gives plants the break they need from TX sun
I seriously love this shade fabric. I've been able to cut it and create custom shade sails over my garden.Texas gardening has a steep learning curve so after frying everything my first year I knew I needed a shade break. I bought the SHANS 30% UV and some 60% UV. 30% has been enough to keep my tomatoes growing through the brutal late summer heat. The bonus is that the shade fabric also protects the garden from hail during severe storms. The grommets are super easy to install and I use a fairly hefty gauge wire to hold the sail taut. The fabric has held up very well over several summers. The only deterioration I had was in an area where I hammered clips through the fabric into wood to secure it. I cannot garden without this!

Pretty good
This is not as dense as I thought it would be, based on looking at the picture, so I had to double it up. I bought it to shade my lettuce, kale, arugula and mustard greens a bit as it got hot really early this year. It has definitely helped doubled up, but it doesn't provide much shade with just one layer. It is plastic and rough and snags pretty bad on the chicken wire. It is much easier to spread out with a second set of hands. That being said, I pull it back by myself to harvest all the time.I have only had it up for a month, but it is holding up well to wind/rain/sun, and we've had A LOT of wind and sun this past month.Warning: the little clips that come with it are really hard to pinch together. Bring a pair of pliers with you.

Up for A Year & Still Kickin
I cut the product in half lengthwise (a chore) to use for a garden hoop cover made from 10' pvc pipe. It's been up a year and helped us in Summer desert heat and seems to have provided some protection from light frosts this year. It looks like it'll last me another year at least. I do have it clamped down (didn't like the ones sold with it and just use spring clamps) and that puts some wear and tear on it as I open and close raised bed for harvests, planting, weeding, etc... No complaints. Did the job I thought it would do.

Affordable, discreet shade covering for porch rafters
I cut to size to cover open rafter on my front porch. I didn't want a shade cloth with higher shading because I have an Earthbox and other sun-loving container plants. I used the provided plastic grommets (quite big in case you want to use thick rope). I secured with plastic coated wire. You cannot see the shade cloth from the street. It's very discreet, blends with beige and green house paint. If you need to cool or shade your bedroom, this is not for you. Happens my bedroom is where the shade is. I'm okay with this as I'm growing plants and my dog and cat like sunshine coming onto my bed.

I love this thing, my plants are thriving.
30% is perfect so far. My garden tower and potted plants love the cover they have now. My cukes are thriving and so are my herbs. I clipped this to a frame for our camping canopy and it looks very nice in my back yard. We live in Florida and I'm hoping this will help some of my plants produce veggies longer into the hot summer. The canopy has been up for several weeks now, and my tomatoes look SO MUCH healthier. Their leaves are richer green.

Just a little bit of shade
Apparently this fabric comes off a long bolt and they cut off the length you order, the same way it is done at a fabric store. The reason I only give this 3 stars is because the edges were cut all crooked. I bought this for use in San Francisco bay area. We have very temperate summers so I just want a little bit of shade. I put it on a hoop frame. It does what I want it to do. It looks nicer than the black shade cloth. The clips are nice, but make sure you place them exactly where you need them because once they are on, it would be very very hard to unsnap them.

30% shade cloth can help you grow your vegetable with less sun burn
Research is being done showing that a 30% shade cloth can help keep vegetable plants and their fruit from getting sun burn. When your vegetable plants are quite leafy that isn't a problem but sometimes there is less leaf and the fruit peeks out and this can help lessen the chance of sun burn while still giving you good growth. I live in an areas with very very few days that are cloudy and few of those are cloudy all day so this is quite important. I put the product up and even in high winds it has stayed in place and still looks great (which if you haven't used shade cloth before can be a learning experience to use the snaps correctly and have them attached so the shade cloth doesn't blow away or tear.
