Servsafe Coursebook 6th Edition

A must for anyone interested in food hygiene and safety. Indispensible for anyone who wishes to work in the commercial food world. It will change your life. I thought I knew about food safety, but this book blew my mind. You'll never eat in any establishment again without wondering if the food was handled correctly! Of course, there is the risk that you develop a phobia. Try not to. Remember that most establishments take food safety very, very seriously. They don't intentionally set out to poison the client. Makes compelling reading. You'll never prepare raw chicken again without sanitizing all your equipment, including the cutting surfaces.

I actually like this textbook. It's very interesting even though it seems like a lot of the things are just memorization of stuff like temperatures and things. But it's organized very well and one of the better books I've had to use for my classes anyway.

This is the latest version of the standard ServSafe textbook, for the Safety and Sanitation course at the college level. Be careful when you buy. This version has no answer sheet; I did not need one. Other versions come with either an answer sheet for the written ServSafe test or a voucher for the on-line test. Make sure you get the one you need, and save yourself $38.00 and some time ordering the correct one from the National Restaurant Association.

WARNING: You need to really read the details for these. There are several different options-with and without the test, the online voucher, used, new. Don't order a used version if you expect a test. My order was Exactly as described. I only wanted the book (not the test), so I found the proper code and got what I wanted. Three friends didn't read the description thoroughly and ordered with the wrong code. So they got the wrong package.

ServSafe is an excellent book for educational purposes. It is well structured, very organized and to the point. The key terms, discussion topics and questions in the back of the chapter are helpful in preparing for the ServSafe exam. The extraneous info is minimized, except for Chapter 2. Chapter 2 covers pathogens (bacterias, toxins, fungi and parasites) in a fair amount of detail. The ServSafe exam did not ask many questions specifically on pathogens.

I needed this book to re-certify for ServSafe. It was easy to read and study from. It sample questions and the end of each chapter and very good glossary. It did not have the scantron(which I did not need because I already had one).

ServSafe Coursebook, Revised with ServSafe Exam Answer Sheet (6th Edition) ***BUYER BEWARE*** Does NOT come with the answer sheet as stated in description! The copy I received arrived missing the exam sheet, and now I have to pay $45 to get that separately! DO NOT RENT OR BUY THIS ITEM USED because it is useless without the exam answer sheet that must be mailed in to receive ServSafe certification! Should not even be made available unless sheet is included inside. Very misleading!

I was having a hard time study for my ServSafe test with only notes from the lectures we hade. You see I;m a visual learner, I need the textbook in order to absorb the information. I look everywhere for this book and it was super expensive. Here I got it for a great price, in pretty good condition for being used, and delivery promptly. I never would have been able to pass my test with the great service provided by amazon. I got the book and a good grade.
