Another page turner
Once again DI Zoe Finch has got her hands full. Two students dead at the University and she and her team are pondering if they were an act of suicide. Zoe has her doubts.Zoe's boss has collapsed and in the meantime Frank Carter will temporarily take her place. Zoe doesn't get on with Carter but is determined to make things go smoothly for her team.Zoe has been taken off the bombing case---which she isn't happy about. She believes the PSD still thinks she might be involved with the criminals who did this. Carl, who Zoe is gradually falling in love with, works for the PSD and she wonders is he also think she's a bent copper.I thoroughly enjoyed this read, also the others in this series. Can't wait to find out if everything will come together in the next book.5 * from this happy reader.

Confusing writing.
Good story as always by this author. However. I am sorry to say, as in the other books, there are a lot of errors in spelling and especially in this one the names of characters are mixed up. Reading about one person talking to another who is not there or talking to themselves. Very confusing. Needs editing!

Great Read
Another great read following Zoe and her investigation team. This time they have a double murder at the local university to investigate, but with students and the faculty lying and hindering them at every turn, will they be able to unmask the culprit and bring them to justice before they kill again? At the same time, there is still the investigation into the bombings and human trafficking from the previous books. Zoe is officially removed from the case but still does some digging and gets a little closer to unveiling the depth of police corruption and their links to organised crime.

In the meantime, Professional Standards continues its investigation of police corruption.Again, this was another rivetting read and I look forward to the finale in book #6! Enjoy 🙂

Easy to read page turner.
I have now read all 6 books, in order. I needed some light reading, as a distraction, following the recent, accidental death of my partner. This series fitted the bill nicely. The plotting is good. But Rachel needs to take more care or employ a better proof reader/editor; there are numerous errors that could easily be avoided. Overall, a good reading experience for anyone who likes crime novels featuring strong female characters.

Steady as she goes!
Book 5 of the Detective Zoe Finch series is a steady addition to the series. The story is set around suspicious deaths in and associated with student Halls of Residence. Solving the deaths is reasonably routine, I feed a little slow and boring. There are several sub plots, which is to be expected from Rachel McLean, developing the ' bent coppers' storyline and also a sergeant to setting up the DCI Clarke Dorset series.A pedestrian really.Only 3-star at best!

Back To Her Best
Having been a little disappointed by book 4 of this series, I thought I would jump stray into book 5 and I am very glad I did. A much less muddled storyline and no implausibilities made this a much better read. A one-off storyline embedded in the ongoing saga, this book sets up a climax to the series and the next series. Brilliant!

Creative crime reading.
The first book in this series I thought was okay, reasonably good yarn with characters who one felt were being hindered or restrained from their full potential because of the clever underlying storyline. Because of this on going intrigue I have kept reading, thoughly enjoyed it all and looking forward to more of the same!,
