Good stuff, but tricky to use!
The packaging and all is good . but it's tricky to use because the rods get hot outside and you could touch it accidentally. Overall happy with the styling and heat control.

Good
Very nice product good for professional use as it became little hot from sides also

Normal straighteners that are better at curling IMO + these curls don't last.
These are ok, but to be honest I've used ordinary straighteners which are better at curling and more powerful. In fact, I think the tighter tug that a normal straightener gives (like when you curl ribbon with scissors), actually creates a better curl. These glide so loosely, that there is not much tension. You don't get a perfect curl every time, often they come out flat. These produce pretty loose curls, even on a high heat setting. They're quite damaging for not a lot of result. If I could go back, I'd get normal straighteners instead.Don't get me wrong, you can achieve a full head of curly hair, but it's more time consuming than I'd hoped for with a straightener designed for curling, as you often have to go over pieces that failed to curl. While these are easy to use for beginners, I'd advise buying somewhat powerful, normal straighteners. They're better at curling in my opinion. The tension created by those in my opinion, is what makes the curls last. The curls produced by these ones have never lasted long at all to be honest. Disappointing.- Review from someone who's curled hair with straighteners since age 12.

Broke on second use
I used these straighteners about a week ago for the first time, only for a quick straightening to test them out and they worked great. They were on for about 5 minutes. I wanted to use them again yesterday to try curling this time and I had only gotten through curling one section of hair when I noticed the curls were not really forming any more and turned out the straighteners had just switched off on their own. After that they will no longer turn on at all. Tried several times during the evening. So basically I got less than 10 minutes of use out of these before they broke. Extremely disappointing. Otherwise I really liked the curved design and longer plates of this model and the first time they worked very well, but I definitely would not risk getting a replacement if there are products with such defects in circulation for this model. Will return these and look for another option with longer plates.

Would recommend
I know everyone finds it hard to move to new straighteners, I'm no exception. My hair is very fine, and dry. I have naturally 'randomly wavy here and there in no coherent pattern' hair which I dry 'straight' with a brush and hair dryer so it's always a frizz bomb by the time I come to use the straighteners. I don't normally buy ghd or pay that kind of price tag for straighteners, I find ghd's leave my hair too flat and flyaway anyway. When I need new ones, if I haven't already seen what I want I will look at all the current straighteners and choose what looks best and that's what I did when I bought these. They were on a promotion and considering how good I think they are I realise I got them at a great price. They do heat up fast, and the heat up takes a little longer the higher the temperature you select. You need to set the temperature each time, not a big deal you just click the button until you reach the level you want and the light blinks until its up to temperature and doesn't take long. I use the one below the top temperature, I could probably use less but this is the approximate temperature I always use. You need to hold the straighteners on the handle and not grab them further up, there is a rubber indicator you just don't go past it and you'll be fine - if you grab further up you will get burnt. The chrome outside on these is for curling so it's nearly as hot as the plates, you can't touch it and should avoid going right to the scalp with the in general. When first used I found that like nearly all straighteners it takes using them few times for the plates to fall into a completely flat position. There was the odd snag on the first/second run but none really after that. They straighten well and give even heat, and I have tried the curling which I liked but found a little difficult to get used to as you need to put the rubber caps on and you need to be careful as they are all you have to hold onto the end and not burn your fingers, I found it difficult to be sure I was holding them right when curling behind my head/using a mirror. Comes with heat proof pouch which is a bonus, good long lead, lock for keeping the straighteners closed, auto shut off. I would recommend without hesitation.

Not a hit with me - disappointed by quality
I have had a Babyliss straightener for the last 14 years. The only reason I bought this one was because my old one's power cable started to not always work, or I had to hold it in a specific position whilst straightening my hair for the past month so I thought, time for a new one. When I found this straightener, I thought it was perfect, had great reviews, had good value for money and when I received it, looked super easy to use. When I got to use it there were a few things I wasn't very happy with which made me choose to return the item the same day it got delivered. These are- crackling sound when iron was on- the plates would not close completely, they would have a small gap which when I tried curling my hair wasn't really curling them but leaving them flat- the grips aren't pretty stable- the plates seemed to move whenever I would press the plates between them a little harder and I swear I could see a gap between the plates and the adhesive, and the plates moving made me not want to continue using the item as I felt it would fall apart- the titanium plates after passing a few strands looked like they were burned or stained, which was odd as I had no product on my hair and plates are not supposed to appear like this after using them. My previous iron had ceramic plates which never looked like that - I don't know if that's what titanium plates are supposed to look like after first use, but I wasn't happy with that either.Overall, the quality was lower than what I expected after using the product and paying attention to details and also the matt feels extremely low quality compared to my old one which also had the company's logo on it and looked like it had much more finesse. Also one of the tips got stuck in the matt's pocket after I tested it by putting the iron in the sleeve - it was a pain to get out.Disappointed, but feeling like it makes sense that this iron is half price. For some people this iron might be 'it' and for others not. Sadly, this wasn't for me. I hope that Babyliss soon releases products the way it used to make them.

A great curling tool
This is a great straightener/curler that's easy to use and does the job at a much better price than a GHD! Like other reviews have mentioned it does make a bit of an odd sound once it's on and warmed up (like a soft buzzing), but I barely even notice it anymore and it doesn't affect its use at all. I use mine on the lowest heat setting and it gives a nice sleek result and some good curls that last really well if I take the time to pay attention to each hair section properly and prepare my hair (I have thick, wavy hair). I haven't burnt myself using it but you do have to be mindful to only touch the ends - with the rubber caps on! - when you're curling. I also like that the protective mat has a sleeve area, so I just lock the plates together and slip it straight in after using it and let it cool down that way. For the price I'm really impressed and happy with it and definitely recommend it.
