The best thing ever!
Absolutely love this exerciser. It comes with a detailed guide of tons of different exercises and has so many functions, it's like home fitness on crack. The price is ridiculously low (spoken by someone who paid over $200 for the rebock core bord when it came out 10 years ago and the original rebock stepper 20 years ago, as well as treadmills, an exercise bike, a rower & stairclimber in between). I hate the gym because of the cheese factor, but like to keep moving. After relentlessly searching for an affordable wobble/core board, I came across this. It is totally fun to stand, sit or twist on, and makes me a little bitter that I've had so many single function gimmicks. It's the same weight as the step board, but it's sturdy and fits under my bed. I'm actually sitting on it in my bed so i can do twisties and arm lifts while I watch TV. Literally the best money I've ever spent on fitness!!!!

Was like miming.
No written directions, was too short (legs arent in a natural position), had to find a video online. Came with a cd that was in another language, blurry and really didn't explain anything. Was like miming.. Was pretty dangerous the first time I got on. Definitely made for short women or children.Waste of money for me.

I bought this for the added features, however, just a basic step is really all that is needed. I would exercise for 20-30 minutes and be exhausted but not feel like it really targeted any area to result in an improvement. I get better exercise just from walking or a stationary bike.

Worth the Wait
I chose this rating because this multipurpose exercise step surprised me. It's compact, sturdy, appears well made and draws me to it.What I liked about it was how easy it was to start using it and the immediate benefit I got from the calve stretch. I agree with the other reviews that the DVD should be instructional rather than an advertisement to demonstrate what can be done … it needs to be slower and repeat to enable the viewer to follow along. If an instructional video were provided, I would have rated this 5 stars.I would recommend this to people who have already begun an exercise routine and would like to enhance it. Stepping onto the rocking part does require some strength and ability to balance. Without instructions, and a "program" to slowly guide the user on how to approach exercise, I could see potential to get hurt. In the very least, I'd set the unit up near a chair or wall as a precaution, and encourage wearing sneakers that assist with balance at first, then move to bare feet.

BodySurfer
I bought this to help rid myself of my gargantuan post baby body. It arrived in it's firebox box and as usual I got very excited and released it. Straight away I was on it and felt it working my legs. It's got a swivel thing in the middle for your waist and stretchy things for your arms. It also has wheels, although I'm assured it's not a skateboard. My bottom line? Highly recommended!

Love it, but...
It's affordable and versatile, but after a little over a month of using the spinning disk, I noticed that the mechanism inside needs some oil and I don't know how to get in there or if there is a warranty on it. It still works, its just harder to spin.

Potentially useful piece of equipment--but expect to teach yourself
NOTE: I received this exercise step for free review from the manufacturer.I was interested in trying the BodySurfer Exercise Step (or the "Moonsurfing" step, as it is referred to in all the included materials), as it appeared very similar to the The Firm Wave, which had intrigued me when it was released several years ago. Similar to the Wave, this half-moon shaped step can be used in two positions: 1) crest side up, which provides a rounded yet stable platform, and 2) crest side down, which offers a flat top yet a challenge to both balance and the core. I was surprised to find that the step is VERY heavy--I didn't weigh it, but another reviewer mentions that is 13.3 lbs., which sounds about right (especially given the reported shipping weight of 15.5 lbs.). Still, it is relatively easy to maneuver. Since I have carpet in my exercise room, I have found it a good idea to place a yoga mat under the step when using it.My first disappointment with this product is that the included "workout DVD" is not a workout at all! In fact, it is barely an instructional video, as there is no narrative: there is simply a Vietnamese woman who briefly displays various moves on the step for about 8 minutes total. (I note that she is Vietnamese because if you do a Google search of "Moonsurfing," you will find both this video and a longer infomercial in Vietnamese; apparently, that's where this product was originally marketed.) An instructional booklet was also included with the product, so this is an alternate resource for determining how to use the step, but the booklet is very small, the instructions sparse, and the photos minimal.Since this step IS so similar to the Firm Wave product, I decided to borrow the Wave DVDs from a friend to see if they would work with this step. Luckily, this actually did work out pretty well. I particularly enjoyed using the step in the unstable (crest down) position, even if it was just to rock back and forth; this was fun, and it gave a good cardio workout as well. Unlike the Wave, however, the BodySurfer has a "turntable" on the flat side; this is supposed to be used for standing or seated twisting work to target the core. Unfortunately, it also makes it impossible to stand directly in the middle of the step, as there is a danger of your foot twisting right out from under you! This is a serious design flaw--there definitely should be some means of locking the turntable, but I would have actually preferred if it had not been included at all.Another feature of the BodySurfer that differs from the Wave is retractable rollers on the flat side which are supposed to turn the product into an ab-roller type device. These did not work for me at all on the thin carpet in my workout room, and like another reviewer mentioned, you probably would not want to use them on hardwood, either. So, unless you are working out on tile or some other resistant surface, this is yet another function of the BodySurfer with very limited utility. In truth, although I have never actually tried the Firm Wave, I think I would prefer it to this product. If this product is your only option, it does have some utility and might be workable, depending on your exercise needs.

I really like this so far
I really like this so far! The only thing I dislike about receiving this product was the information guide about it must have gotten wet one time, it was stuck together, I couldn't open the pages.
