Takes Getting Used To - But Well Worth the Price!
People seem to fall into one of two camps on Fobus holsters - they like them a lot or don't care for them at all. I can only give my own experience with this holster for the 2" snubby. I already had leather or combination holsters for my larger semi-autos.These Israel-made holsters are custom formed thermoplastic, made over specific models of pistols or revolvers to provide a perfect 'second-skin' fit. Simple, affordable and they appear to be almost indestructible with normal use. The paddle style carries the snubby a bit high and fairly close to tbe body, although for concealed carry it would be necessary to wear a jacket or other loose fitting garment over it. The fit is totally secure. The gun will not come out unless the wearer wants it to.I should mention that I did NOT want the style with the rotating clip which supposedly allows for different positions on the belt. Those seem to have a few design features not to my liking.I wear mine with the paddle inside my pants, with my shirt between my skin and the holster. I DID add a strip of adhesive moleskin to cover the top rivets, just as a matter of personal preference. But I would not want ANY holster resting against my skin, no matter what material. To draw the revolver, the wearer must press it at a very slight angle outward while pulling up. It is very hard to describe the exact motion, but ten minutes of practice with an unloaded weapon will train the owner to find that angle without having to stop and think about it. There is a 'click' sound, and feel, when the revolver is properly placed into, or removed from, the holster. This is not made as a 'quick draw' holster, nor is it for fantasy actors or Rambo wannabes. It IS a very solid, very well fitted and very secure device to keep one's weapon at hand, and the price is designed for real-life people who may not have sixty to one hundred bucks to spend on a holster. A very good value.** UPDATE **Since writing the first review, I have added a couple of the larger Fobus holsters to take care of my 9mm and my 40. ( 40 caliber, not 40 ounce!) And everything about them is as perfect as the revolver version. The hold, or grip, on both autoloaders is secure, and as always, the Fobus holsters are Zen-like simplicity of form and function and seemingly impervious to hard wear, sweat, rain and dry, powdery dust. These things are great.

It works
This fits the following Taurus models I have well. The model 85 2.5 inch barrel and the model 94 4 inch barrel 9 shot (mid 90’s) revolver. It does not fit the 856.It fits the above models well and it holds them securely.I must point out that this holster is permanently riveted. I missed seeing that when I purchased it. All my other plastic holsters have a screw and a rubber grommet which sits between the two half’s to adjust the amount of tension on the weapon. The model because it is riveted only has one tension. Either you like it or not. I find it just slightly too tight but I do not use it as a concealed carry holster. I use it to carry the 94 at the ready for snakes on the farm.

great holster
was a little leary because of the reviews on how tight this holster grips your pistol. 1st off buy the correct holster for your pistol, learn how to release said pistol from holster, if it's still to tight heat with a hair dryer and spread it. This is a great holster and the only one I use when off duty. It's not a quick draw holster remember your not at the ok corral. holds my pistol high and snug a slight twist while drawing and it's out been using it for over a year and would recommend for everyday or professional use.

Nice holster but not perfect for Taurus 856
I bought this thinking it would work for my Taurus 856. The gun needs to be pushed in with a bit of effort. You can see the holster widen up a little as the gun is pushed in. I assume now that the gun is a bit too wide for the holster. And I can’t push the gun far enough down to completely obscure the trigger (close, but not quite there). I have tried this holster with a Taurus 380 (380 auto snubby revolver) and it fits perfect. Drops in nice, not loose, and the trigger is completely covered. This makes me wonder if the Taurus 85 would fit this holster perfect as it’s the basic model that both the 856 and the 380 are based on. The 85 is a 5 shot and is a bit thinner than the 856 (which otherwise is the same gun but as a 6 shot).Other then that, the holster fits nice and snug, doesn’t move around on the belt, and I can’t see how it would ever come off by someone yanking on it. But it does stick out from your body just a bit which might make ccw difficult. Overall nice holster but I will have to try again for something a little different.

Not good for my Taurus 605
I purchased this holster for my Taurus 605. It looked like exactly what I wanted, great size, strong material, it seemed useful. As some other sour reviews have expressed, it holds on to the revolver and won't let go. Drawing with one hand is impossible. Two-handed isn't possible until one removes the entire holster from their side and wrestles with it. In a life or death situation, this holster has NO place whatsoever. I will only use something I can trust, as any normal person would. A solution in the instructions was to spray silicone spray inside of it. Pass. Unfortunately I had to return it, but I was promptly reimbursed, even for the shipping.

Way better than expected
I was a bit concerned about this purchase. I failed to read the reviews until after I had made the purchase. Luckily all of the negative reviews I read where wrong. I bought this holster to use with a Taurus 605 steel frame. The fit and retention is perfect. Im unsure why other people had an issue with the firearm getting stuck in the holster but that is not the case with the holster I recieced. Straight out of the package I was able to put the holster on and and draw the firearm perfectly and smoothly. I even went to the range and could consistently draw and hit center mass on a shot timer at around 0.8 seconds. No issues at all.

Good fit
Seems to be well made. I question how long the 3 rivet paddel portion lasts. It's the part that go's in the pants..feels like it will snap off. Rossi R351 revolver fits nicely a little tight. 3 stars for the 3 rivets that I feel will fail
