I recommend these swords for kids over the age of nine.I purchased these for a five- and four-year-old, I thought they were great for tykes wanting to play at being shinobi, but no, just no. These are well crafted, they are sturdy, and they look great. The detail on the hilt was impressive…but these little kids are little kids and kids will find a way to end up in an emergency room if they had an awesome little katana that they could accidentally injure themselves, others, or the family dogs. Reluctantly I returned the swords, but man, I wish didn’t because they are great.

We bought these swords for my 5 year old. they are thin wood and the way they are held together makes them flimsy. Within the first couple of days the string which helps hold the sword in the handle came undone and I had to rewrap the string and ended up gluing the handle and string to make the sword not so floppy. They are cute but not worth the money if you are buying these for play.

CHEAP! terrible quality. Both swords broke in less than a week. Wood splintered near the base and became a hazard for my child to use so I had to throw away and could not repair it. Extremely disappointed.

These were great for what my kiddo wanted them for. He played with them for a few weeks and then they kind of fell apart, but I wasn’t expecting them to last forever! They would make great decorations in a kids room though!

These were cute and my kids were so excited. But they broke at the handle at the first sign of pressure. They are definitely not made for kids to play with them.

I needed a quick katana for my Sango(from Inuyasha) cosplay so I bought these swords. I sanded them down,added foam details and paint and prime and now I have a custom sword. IMPORTANT: These are kid swords so compared to a full adult this will be the size of a dagger or mini sword.

Love it, it was exactly as described.

The small wood design of these was not impressive to my child, and then a couple swings of them caused them to break.
