FABULOUS--Except...
Wisting is very well written and acted. I was absorbed completely by the plot and loved the photography. The acting was without exception, top notch....BUT...it is a VERY foolish decision to put white subtitles in a snowbound backdrop. Want the American market? We'd love it, but subtitles in yellow please. I took my review down a star because I was unable to read most of the subtitles. A real shame because I love Nordic Noir.

Powerhouse Performances, Direction and Writing!
So far, I have yet to find a Swedish or Norwegian made series that doesn't immediately capture my attention within the first 5 minutes. The story is told through fantastic dialogue and an intricate web of deceit, lies, passion, betrayal, psychopathy, and more, as it bounces your around like a ball on a Wimbledon Tennis Court, giving and taking every time you think you've gotten it straight.I've been at this watching anything in television, movies, and streaming game since...well...probably the day I was born. It is hard to find a film or show that is new that I haven't already seen. For example, in 1976, Dsf had me watch Cinderfella when it came on television. Dad also had the album. I ended up listening to that album probably 50 times at the least until I had every single line Jerry said, and in which manner and character he said them.I say that, because, rarely, I can't guess who the killer is, and it is usually way too soon in most of those types of things I watch. But sometimes, one comes along that throws me for a loop or even two.'Wisting' had me feeling like I was getting drunk on a Merry-Go-Round (Here, in the nation's Carousel Capitol, Binghamton, NY) each time I thought I guessed the killer already. One of my mid-series guesses ended up being correct, but it wasn't my first one, nor my last. When you consider the force and quality of streaming out of different countries now, you have to put Norway and Sweden on the same level as Hollywood. It was superb, and I watched the entire series in one day.Definitely 5 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈Rainbow Reviews

Wisting is much watch TV!
I actually signed up with AMC+ to watch season 2 of "A Discovery of Witches" and looked about for other possible shows I might like and I found "Wisting" description as something of interest, not knowing Carrie Anne Moss was one of the primary actors. What a pleasant surprise when she showed up in her first scene! Needless to say my interest became peaked moreso than it already was with this superbly layered and nuanced procedural drama. As the show progressed, certain aspects of it reminded me of another Scandinavian show called, "Bordertown" aka: "Sojornen". If you liked Bordertown, you'll like Wisting, or visa-versa.I watch a fair amount of foreign television and while I didn't note when reading the description the show was a foreign language series it didn't really matter to me that I was going to be watching with subtitles. Because Moss and another English speaking actor (Richie Campbell) is part of the show, half of it is in English, so not every scene requires subtitles.Sidenote: I very much value what I learn about other cultures by immersing myself in foreign language tv/film that you don't get by always watching English language programming. Also, it forces me to not do anything else at the same time, (i.e., computer) and focus solely on one thing. As far as I'm concerned, this series, which is in season two production should be available in U.S. sometime this year, is MUST WATCH TV.

As good as you’d expect
Show itself is as good as expected. Been waiting a long time and wasn’t disappointed. We’re in a bit of a dry spell with Spiral season 7 still not out in US, and other shows between season’s-Thek, Dublin Murders (fingers crossed),Borderliner, Deadwind,Shetland, Vera, and one can always hope for another season of Luther.I knew the release date was supposed to be 12-18-19. So I realized a glitch had made all episodes except 1 and 2 available early. Couldn’t resist (almost Christmas after all) and watched 3,e,r, and 6. Got control of myself and saved the rest. Now I’ve seen 1 and 2. All greatly satisfying. The show runners did a superb job and hoping for many more seasons.Personally, a programming error at Sundance isn’t worth blowing my top.

Intéressant
Bonne série policière.Ce que j'aime est le fait que la série se passe dans les pays nordiques et a une bonne trame.
