Ever since I was little, I would always get more insect bites than anyone else. There is something about my blood that attracts them. Literally while everyone else might have like 4 bites, I would have closer to 10 or 15. As a result, even though I love being outside and looking at the stars at night, I rarely did so because of how bad my body reacts to the bites. That is until I found this!Now that we redid our backyard, I decided to look into the bug zappers. I searched through tons of different types. The ones I found were either big and bulky and you had to worry about easily getting shocked when cleaning, and the others were smaller but didn't do much.I decided on this because it was the only smaller one that seemed more powerful based on the reviews. I'm so glad I did! It packs a punch and the flying insects are no match. I was a little worried about the smaller spacing between the grate lines, but it worked well on the larger mosquitos and moths too. It has a tray at the bottom that you can easily slide out to clean. They recommend putting it on about 20 or 30 min before you go outside so that it can clear a lot of the area first.My only little issue is that there is no on/off switch so you have to plug it in each time you want to use it which means if you hang it up outside, the plug is just left there dangling when its not in use with the metal prongs exposed if it rains or something so im not sure if it will cause damage later. So to avoid I'll just have to keep hanging it and taking down with each use. It is rather loud when it zaps the bug and sometimes makes a little spark so put it out of reach of children and pets. I personally have to put my dog away because the loud zap drives her nuts so she tries to jump and get it. I don't mind the noise as much because it lets me know that it's working. Also some dead bugs get shocked and don't make it in the tray so if you have it on a table or something, expect some little dead or half dead bugs to be all around it.This is a really great product and i definitely recommend it. I have one near my patio, and I'm actually thinking about buying a second one to put in an adjacent area near my bbq and fire pit.

Wanted to wait till I used product before reviewing. Have had it for two seasons, and besides now needing a new bulb ( which is expected) the unit works great. Provides many “ bug free” evenings on our back porch all summer long. Dont hesitate to purchase this item.

I purchased this item based on the good reviews here on Amazon as well as the price. I like to leave the doors open when the weather is nice and to let my dog go in and out on his own. This also lets a few flying insects come in as well. I plug it in when i go to bed and all the lights are off. The insects seem to be attracted to the purple light. I didn't realize how many flying insects i had until I purchased this. The amount of insects being zapped was incredible. It zapped dozens of them. This is so easy to use. Just plug it in and it does what its supposed to do. Its also very easy to clean. You just pull out tray and empty. A cleaning bush is included.

This light was perfect outside of by my back porch. It caught so many bugs that were flying around. I live in Florida so there’s tons of bugs and mosquitoes. You could hear the bugs zap when they fly by. It works perfect and I’ve had this for a couple years now, and still works like it did when I first bought it. And you just pull the tray thing out and empty it and then take a wipe and wipe it. It’s very easy to clean. it also is very light so you can hang it anywhere and it won’t fall.it also comes with a little brush to brush the tray out .

I originally bought this in 2021 to use in my bedroom to zap gnats that crawled through my screen. But my dog was frightened by the sound, so I put it away.I got it back out this summer and parked it on my unroofed front porch.This little unit worked like a champ all summer! Got flies, gnats, mosquitoes, and dozens of June bugs (the big striped flying beetle types).Rain and wind didn’t hinder it at all, plus the birds enjoyed feasting on the fried corpses every morning.I unconditionally recommend this, BUT I understand that it might not be made the same in 2023 as it was in 2021.

** Update** 9/3 This stopped working. The light will not come on anymore. *** It worked great but after a few months it no longer works.This light is awesome for my fruit flies. I don’t know why I have them every summer all summer. I am a clean freak. I cannot find the source and I have tried EVERYTHING, believe me everything for the last 4 summers and cannot get rid of them. I work from home and they would always bug me at my computer. I decided to try this light and wow. It’s been about 4 weeks and it’s killed about 50. I have seen a significant improvement in the amount of FFs since getting this. I was going to buy another one but when I looked they were out so I got another one similar that does a good job as well but this one attracts them more for some reason. I keep one in my dining room and in my kitchen. It’s loud when it zaps and it startles me sometimes but u get used to it.

I bought two of these since I had a lot of little gnats flying around and they worked pretty well until the bulbs stopped working. The Bulbs inside said that they're FUL18W-BL but the product description says that the bulb is 15W. Not sure if the description is wrong but I cant find a bulb of the same size that's 18 watt so I had to settle with getting 15 watt replacement bulbs. Fingers crossed that it doesn't make a difference.

Buen producto, fulmina a los insectos instantáneamente, literalmente los elimina y sólo deja un pequeño punto negro de lo que fue el insecto. El ruido que hace al eliminar un insecto es un poco fuerte, sobre todo en la madrugada cuando todo esta en silencio, me ha llegado a despertar, pero aún así, prefiero este ruido ocasional al que producen los mosquitos en la madrugada.

Lo compre para los mosquitos del consultorio y acaba muy bien con ellos!

Funciona realmente, atrae a los insectos voladores y los aniquila (almacenándolos en su repositorio).
