6-3/8 Hole Saw for 6" Recessed Lights, Carbide Grit Holes Saw Cutting Plaster Drywall Ceiling Sheetrock, Green

I've been in contracting for 30 years and I admit I was skeptical on purchasing this. Completely happy I did. Cut 18 holes in very old plaster and lath. All perfect reguardless of it being on or off a joist. Just make sure you have a firm grip. If the lath or joist happens to bind the blade, a good drill will try to pull your arm off. Not the hole saws fault.

Works great cutting plaster, a little slow though lath but does cut through it as well. I personally use it to cut 6 holes for canless led fixtures. Each hole was the perfect size and the hole saw still has plenty of life left. I would definitely recommend and will be purchasing a second for a back up.

When you are running into lath & plaster this works.

Now in my application I used this to cut 13 holes through a plaster ceiling with the old 50’s gypsum with the holes underneath.As was it took about 1 minute a hole & I could probably do another 13 or more with it.If that ceiling had metal lathe I’m not sure how the product would withstand.Overall good product
