Very pleased
At first I thought the projector didn’t work, it turns out I need to leave no gap in between planets so that the bottom will connect for lights. My 3 year old son really loves it as he knows all about planets. Too bad though it doesn’t include the dwarf planets. My son was looking for it. But overall very good.

The Science Can Solar System is good but could be better
The Science Can Solar System is good but could be better. We purchased the product for our 4 year old son who is really into space at the moment and wants to know more about planets. The SCSS is easy to assemble out of the box, you just need to add your own batteries. The plastic planets are easy to identify and the light projector on top is probably the highlight of the product with clear images covering a range of space interests. I'd say the two things that let the product down, is the English commentary that's built into the product when you press on a planet for more information, and the lack of movement of the planets on the solar system itself. The English accent does not appear to have been recorded by a native English speaker and so some of the words are perhaps not clear for a child to interpret. The lack of automated movement of the planets is a real disappointment, but I know this would probably mean the price of the product would need to change too. So overall, good with plenty of room for improvement. My boy still really likes it.

Great toy for learning about solar system
I just started teaching my 5 year old about solar system, finding information in children's books or videos, but I wanted something more playful, but also great for learning. So I gave it a go with this planetarium toy. It looks really nice and so informative, so it's easy for kids to learn the sizes, looks and positions of planets. Buttons are very sensitive for touch, each says a few facts about each planet. The projector is beloved by my kids, we watch photos of planets, astronauts and other space objects before sleep.

Solar disappointment
Very disappointed. My grandson very interested in all things Space and thought this would be a great addition. The projection was very poor and despite changing batteries multiple times it was very hit and miss. Constantly turning off and on again to get it to work at all.

Easy set up
It’s easy to carry and for my 3 year old to move. He already is knowledgeable about all the planets and knew they order but he enjoys feeling / seeing them like this. He is moving them around the sun but I’m not hopeful that the plastic arms of the planets are on will hold up. He doesn’t like the sound of the man’s voice who speaks with string accent and doesn’t really enjoy hearing about what elements they are made of. I think he would have preferred other interesting facts rather than just listing off each planets elements composition. The light works and at 3 he can slip the 3 discs in but it would have been helpful for the disc to state what you are looking at. Most obvious but some not. It was easy to set up. The planets are quite small and not very spaced out.

My 5 year old loves it. Projection comes across good on the ceiling as long as it’s rather dark in the room. Shame there isn’t more languages, if you don’t speak German or English, you don’t get the message.
