I've been using these since shortly after getting my humidifier which was probably close to 10 years ago. I need winter humidification and I have pets which can complicate the air and be hard on even "appliances." I replace this every 2 months in mine (during seasonal use) and it has eliminated any white dust and even that musty odor that can develop. Also use the aquafier sticks in the tank and replace those monthly.

While the white dust created by the humidifier isn't eliminated, it is drastically decreased. It now takes a week to make my furniture as white as it used to in one day.

We don't have the greatest water quality, so this product works well to filter out the crap so it doesn't end up on our skin.

I purchased them in the hopes that they would prevent any type of dust. One month ago we put a new furnace in. I just put a new filter in, the cost of the $35. After receiving and installing the filter in the humidifier, within one week the white dust had completely clogged that filter. I checked the filter, but I didn’t see the white dust at first. I had to call a furnace repair man, because it completely shut down the furnace. The white dust from the humidifiers was the culprit. The furnace repair man knew it right off. Now, I’m having to buy distilled water.

I used to have one in my humidifier and then I tossed it because it was old. I started using distilled water so it didn’t matter but am now using the humidifier more and buying distilled water is getting costly so I went back to using this. I use filtered water but it still has a lot of minerals in it. This must work because I’m having no residue. I bought the previous one once because I had a lot of the white, dusty residue. This stopped it. It works well and I certainly recommend it.

These filters fit our humidifier great and does a good job cutting down on the dust.

It's not the fault of the filter (which explains the stars), but if your city uses lime water softening, also known as Clark's process, this will not help.In fact, if you have lime-softened water don't even buy an ultrasonic humidifier. I wish I'd known that as it put lime dust over the entire room and ruined an expensive CD player (lime dust got on the lens and can't be cleaned off).Lime softening is done by your city, not by your water softener. Check wikipedia for "lime softening".

We use distilled water and we’re still getting mineral deposits on our humidifier despite frequent cleaning. This filter helps to decrease this, which means it will be easier to clean and what I’m breathing in is cleaner.

Works great,stopped the white dust from forming in the whole house

I have been purchasing this product for a few years. The last time I bought it, the product had changed and lasted about two weeks instead of the three months that it had lasted previously. The picture shows the older version on the left. I paid forty per cent more for the latest version and it is ineffective. I would not recommend the new version of this product.
