How large is the part where the bugs get trapped? Is it big enough for carpenter ants to get stuck?

Hi, the outer reservoir is about 1/2 to 1 inch wide. Although the traps are designed for bed bugs, we have many customer testimonials and videos showing spiders and other types of insects being trapped. Accordingly, it’s certainly possible the trap could work for carpenter ants as well.

Will these work on roaches?

These weren't meant to prevent roaches. It states what they're used for. If you have a roach situation you'll have to do something else.

Is the interior wall textured as well? (So that I could catch bed bugs already on my bed attempting to leave)

The interior wall (where the foot of your bed frame would be) is textured. If they could crawl out of that, since it is textured, they would not be able to get out of the outer canal which is completely smooth on all sides. I would also look into getting ThermalStrike Ranger (it saved my sanity).

If I buy this do you vacuum them out of trap?

Thanks for your inquiry! We recommend removing any trapped pests or debris from the interceptors using a cotton ball or paper towel, and disposing by inserting the cotton ball or paper towel into a sealed plastic bag and placing in a trash disposal outside your home.
