KOHLER1014332 Replacement Handle Adaptor

Kohler part, as near as I can tell. I seems incredible that Kohler would make a faucet stem smaller than handle socket, so this small plastic spacer is needed to match them up. When my wife complained that the handle on the kitchen faucet had become hard to turn, I discovered the plastic spacer had disintegrated. Going to the Kohler website, I found the correct part, then ordered it from Amazon at same price and over night delivery. Result: Happy wife, happy life.

I couldn’t find a replacement handle for my faucet and decided to try this piece out and it works. I wish I’d have found it earlier before the handle got so stripped out. But if I remember to be gentle it works.

Because the piece breaks so easy, when you remove the handle, you have no reference on how the piece goes back in. Be careful, you have a 50% chance the handle will line up properly with the cover. You may have to remove the adapter and rotate 90 degrees for the handle to align properly with the handle cover assy. Buy a couple up front, because they break if you try to remove and re-insert.

This is such a simple item, it is hard to write an opinion about it. It is the right replacement piece that allows the handle to stay put.

order more than one will most likely 50 % will arrive broken by shipper. they are plastic and break very easy.

Does the job that the Kohler Engineers were too lazy to do in the first place. Or was it their greedy marketing people, who knows? Anyway, buy 2 and put one aside because it's just going to fail again in a few years.

I must say that this is the correct part and I'm sure it would've fit perfectly. The problem I have is that the part showed up having been crushed in the mail and was no longer viable. For a $10 mark-up they could at least do better than the lowly bubble wrap envelop. However, this 'part' is the cheapest piece of plastic and Kohler should be ashamed. The plastic squares used to keep bread bags closed are significantly higher quality. Honestly, if you need or are considering this part as part of your repair, don't waste the money. Buy a loaf of bread, make some sandwiches and keep the plastic tab.
