Excellent machine for under $5K
This machine has been in constant use for almost two months. I am really getting into machine quilting my own quilts and am grateful to have a machine with a large harp area, reliable stitching quality and many features of a far, far more expensive machine. The dual feed attachment, ability to change out the needle plates, enhanced lighting, the easy to use controls, knee bar, and automatic thread cutter are all valuable features. Yes, it is a bit heavy (note though that I’m in my 70s), but it is not impossible to haul around if necessary. I had a Janome before that was fine, but this machine is wonderful!

Its Perfect!
I had a small Janome -- and I needed a bigger neck for quilting. I wanted to stay with Janome -- and after reading the instructions (bobbin, threading, etc) - I took my first stiches this evening, and its so quiet and moves so smoothly! Wow -- its quite the upgrade from what I had before. I'm very happy!

Easy instructions, user friendly. Nice screen to choose functions on with stylus included. Durable table top cover. Lots of extra goodies like needles and bobbins. Photo does not show cases or all the feet.

Warning: Possible defective electronics of Janome Memory Craft 8200
I purchased the Memory Craft Horizon 8200QCP during the pandemic at the end of November 2020. It's an adequate machine, but stitch quality doesn't compare to my Bernina 930. Among other sewing projects, I'm an enthusiastic quilter, and I thought this Janome would be perfect for piecing and quilting.A recent incident using the Janome was startling and could have been dangerous. I was sewing with it and lifted my foot off the pedal and the machine continued to sew rapidly. It was almost as if the pedal had stuck in the fastest mode. The only way I could turn the machine off was by using the on/off switch at the side of the machine.I contacted the store which Amazon had used as the original supplier, and it was suggested that the pedal was defective and could have caused the problem. So I went online and ordered a Janome electronic replacement. Tossed the old pedal, which I now realize was a mistake, and installed the new one.Today is the second time I have used the Janome since replacing the pedal. After sewing for several hours, I lifted my foot off the pedal and it continued to race at top speed. This time the only way I could turn the machine off was by pulling the plug from the wall outlet. The Stop/Start button on the face of the machine didn't work. This was SCARY.I have been sewing since 4 when my mother sat with me at her 1948 Singer sewing machine. Over 50 years later, I continue to sew on a regular basis. I have used a Singer, JCPenney, Juki and my all time favorite Bernina 930 and never had an occurrence like this. I will be contacting the distributor tomorrow. I'm assuming that this type of issue would be a warranty repair.UPDATE 7/6/23Contacted the retailer and was told I needed to get in touch with Janome directly. The warrantee on the electronics on this model is 2 years. $2000 machine with a very limited warrantee. Emailed Janome but have not received a reply. Will update when I do.FINAL UPDATE JULY 24, 2023Wrote to the president of Janome America in Mahwah, NJ. He forwarded my letter to customer service which arranged for my machine to be shipped and returned following evaluation. Today I received my 8200 QCP back. The foot controller is not operating. So the original problem still exists.Final: Returned again to Janome, and the machine is now in working order.

Upgrade from Viking
After 10 years with my Viking 870Q it was time for an upgrade. I am in love with my new Janome. Nice and bright over the needle, and the presser foot can get super high for sewing lofty items. Is a quiet machine. I've used it daily for a month and no problems. The roller bag in the bundle pack is sturdy and makes it easy to transport to class.
