Star Trek Shipyards Star Trek Starships: 2294 to the Future 2nd Edition: The Encyclopedia of Starfleet Ships Hardcover – August 24, 2021

This is the latest version of the book, containing ships from Discovery and Lower Decks. An earlier printing did not contain those ships. The content is largely taken from the Hero Collector / Eaglemoss magazines that accompany the Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection miniatures. I have bought some of those, but not all of them (who could--there are hundreds of them!) and found the book very interesting. If you like in-universe technical descriptions of spaceships, these books are great.

I have purchased many of these Star Trek themed books and they are very detailed and are true eye candy. The books are of high quality construction and reasonably priced.

I could not believe how much information was organized in this 2d edition. It went far beyond my expectations.

This book had pictures of the ships with descriptions of the episodes they were featured in with a short description on the reasoning behind it’s design and model.Some of the pictures were a little grainy as the CGI at the time didn’t age well nor enlarge well for a better shot.Unlike the tech manual to the Enterprise, it has very basic information. Still a great buy for a Star Trek fan.

Star Trek was awesome. Could have used more action and shooting, sure, but was amazing. Spock is the best character so far. Young,smart, skilled, likable. The actor is a genius in real life now ,thanks to his education and high IQ.Please check out the best art book in many years, Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson. 100 full color pics. the original book is great - sans the missing AKIRA class from first contactThis update is cool. Needed the new ships and they got -most- of them. Problem though...#1 the California Class is likely rates as toooo huge.#2 each of the newly added ships was given a 2 page side by side spread of a 3/4 view of the ship and 2-3 paragraphs of information. You do not get the full information that would have come with the diecast toy.This should have had a 3rd volume added for these ships so you could get and enjoy all the information... rather than the ungainly thick tome trying to squeeze everything in.

Sinceramente, esperaba que fuera algo con la calidad y la profundidad de Ships of the Starfleet volumen1/revised (de 1991) donde a parte de contarte algo de historia o de lo que se pretendía al diseñar la nave, así como dimensiones, y otras naves de la clase y el escudo del proyecto de diseño, hay un desplegable donde te indican los subsistemas e incluso el libro tiene en su parte final, una nave diseccionada en bastantes planos mostrando desde algunas cubiertas principales hasta el desglose de donde están los sistemas en ellas y por donde discurren dentro de la nave. O como el Volumen 2, que cogen a unas naves de patrulla que son casi el mismo diseño pero en tres variantes modificadas para hacer misiones específicas y a parte de lo anterior te las desmenuzan cubierta a cubierta.Este libro, que si es gordo, son todo imágenes renderizadas donde te señalan donde están secciones o algún elemento especial (si te señalan 5 estás de enhorabuena) te cuentan algo de historia y rellenan con muchas cosas de las series que la mayor parte ya conocemos. Eso cuando no hay errores... que los hay.Pero vamos, nada que no haya aparecido antes de una forma u otra... hasta que llegamos a algunas naves... que... bueno... dejémoslas.Si llego a saber que el contenido era así, no lo hubiera comprado. Al menos, en el último momento, quité del carrito el de los borg, porque visto, este, no tengo ninguna gana de ver los siguientes. Y mira que me habían llamado la atención los de "diseñando" de este mismo autor... pero visto este libro, va a ser que no.Peor aún, los libros de los diversos juegos de rol de Star Trek, hasta los menos trabajados en este aspecto, tienen más información real. Si bien es cierto, que este se basa en rellenar páginas con gran cantidad de naves, de las cuales quizás sobran unas cuantas.

Cool book with interesting artwork. Could be a little more detailed, but all in all quite pleased with it.
