Another triumph for Rebecca
I first started 'following' Rebecca on Instagram when I was struggling to get my fussy toddler to eat over a year ago now, and then I became totally hooked on her easy to follow and tasty recipes which are packed full of flavour, and most of which use everyday store cupboard ingredients or things you would normally get in your weekly shop! What I love about her books, in particular this one, is she tells you how you can store or use leftovers and minimise waste, she also provides good alternatives for those who have allergies or special dietry requirements and all her recipes are suitable from 6 months!! She tells you exactly how to serve food so its suitable and safe for new eaters and what to serve it with too, she has literally thought of everything!! She has provided so much information and care into this book, and she's a down to earth loving mummy like the rest of us! My first baby was weaned mostly on pre-made pouches of baby food, but I'm currently weaning my second and she's enjoying delicious, home cooked meals with the rest of us! I basically only feed my family with recipes from this and her other books now! I would say this is a must have book for any parent who is struggling with a fussy toddler or just about to start weaning, particularly if you're planning on following a baby led approach. Or even if you're just stuck for ideas on what to feed the kids, or even yourselves if you don't have kids! She literally has a recipe for every meal of the day and snacks too! There's nothing not to love about this book!

Surprisingly good cookbook
I bought this on offer not really expecting much. As a daily we don't eat much red meat and a lot of cookbooks are heavy on the red meat/mince (cottage pit etc etc) train for comfort dinners. This book has some really fabulous and quick/easy dinners. We are a HUGE fan of the lemon chicken recipe - stick it on the slow cooker and forget about it but it's so so delicious.I've found there are a lot of good recipes that I would actually make and ones ive already made which are firm favourites. I have a lot to cookbooks where there's only been a handful of dishes I've made and this isn't one of those. The dishes are easily adaptable and adaptable towards children/baby/weaning/picky people like me.

Delicious food for all the family!
I don’t usually write reviews but wanted to this time as the book is really great and I feel like it has received some unfair comments in the more negative reviews - and they shouldn’t put people off buying it!I have all 3 of Rebecca’s books, and this one definitely feels like a more mature, evolved book, with more in depth recipes but that works for us as our kids are past the early weaning stages. So far, I have tried the lentil and butternut squash Dahl, sausage pinwheels, throw it all in gnocchi and the jam biscuits - and everything has been a complete hit! It’s lovely to be able to cook one thing for all the family and everyone enjoy it. Our kids are 9 months and 3 years old and they love the recipes. There have been a few comments on how it is too meat heavy. I am a vegetarian and I can easily say that whilst there are a lot of meat recipes it is very clear in the book that you can substitute in ingredients and as a vegetarian I could easily see how to adapt the recipes to suit me, so I don’t think this should be a real issue. In addition, people have given the book a 1 star review because the price was lowered after they preordered it. That is quite ridiculous really as that has nothing to do with the book itself and is purely down to Amazon - so it should be taken up with the retailer rather than damning the book. There are also some comments on how it is just the same recipes as the first book, which I don’t agree with as there are plenty of new, different recipes. Some recipes are adaptations of similar ones in the original book but still different enough and provides a new recipe to try.Overall, this is my favourite book of the 3 by Rebecca and we absolutely love the recipes we have tried so far and can’t wait to try more!

A really lovely book!
I'm writing this after seeing other reviews that have been posted as I don't think the book has been given a fair review.First, it is a lovely physical book, the cover and feel of it, lovely images (of ALL recipes) and the pages sit flat and open on the counter when you're looking at a recipe which is really handy for a cookbook!I've bought all 3 of Rebecca Wilson's books and would say that they would be best used in the following order:1. What Mummy Makes Family Meal Planner - to be used when you very first start start weaning as it would be a great resource to get going and make the process seem less overwhelming. Some really great features in there for this.2. What Mummy Makes - There are so so many fabulous recipes for littles and adults in this book that it's a great starting point into real food/meals.3. Family Comforts - to me (a very fussy eater) this is the most 'adult' book of the collection and requires a bit more 'proper' cooking (as opposed to simply mixing everything in a bowl and throw it in the oven style, which I personally prefer) with a lot more meals that I'd expect to find on adult restaurant menus rather than those I would usually put together at home.Other reviews have referred to the book being meat-heavy which I don't consider to be the case and I think the meat recipes look as though they'd be very easy to think of a substitute vegetarian/vegan ingredient to be able to still use the same recipe.Overall Family Comforts doesn't have great content for me personally as a fussy eater compared to the first 2 books, but my husband is very excited to try a fair few of the recipes which means our 2-year old will also be trying them too and I'm sure she'll enjoy the majority and gain exposure to new foods/flavours which is great.

Full of favourites
Perfect for young family. We have Rebecca’s first book and have made most recipes several times over. This book definitely has a more mature feel however still feel recipes are easy to follow and not too fussy with lots of ingredients. Slow cooker recipes are also a winner for us.
