This has saved my sanity. I recently added a 7 yr old cat to our household. He was free fed and 5 lbs overweight by his previous owner. Trying to cut down his amount of food and listening to him meow for an hour before feeding time was making both of us crabby and nuts.I got this and after finally converting the amount of food the vet said to feed him into 1/12th cups, I set up a feeding schedule for the cat to get a small amount of food 5 times a day in addition to his 3x's a day wet food.The cat is happy because he gets to eat throughout the day without over eating. He has even settled down enough to not feel like he has to eat it all immediately and is leaving a little in the bowl. I'm thrilled because I don't have to feed him 8 times a day and he isn't meowing constantly.The set up was fairly easy - once you figure out how to get past the "care app offer". It's easy to adjust the time and amount the feeder dispenses as the cat settles in. The instructions say for best results to be within 20 feet of wifi without walls in the path. I have two machines (the cats don't share well) and one is on the second floor. It set up and works perfectly fine despite being much farther away from the wifi.These are perfect for cats who are very food related and eat everything as soon as you serve it. I am slowly getting my timid kitty used to the machine. For him, I let the machine sit a foot away from his bowl, not set up, for a few days. Then, I set it up to dispense food when he was near but not too close so hecouldcheck it out. The 3rd step was to move his bowl next to the feeder but let him eat out of his original bowl. 4th step was to let him see me take food from the dispenser bowl to his normal bowl leaving some dry in the feeder bowl. After a few days, he started eating out of the feeder bowl and is no longer afraid of it.

Five stars based on a few things:1. It works. It feeds my dog on time, every time and set up was a breeze, including syncing with the app and creating a feeding schedule. The feeding schedule was a little tricky to figure out because it dispenses in units of 1/12 of a cup and I am terrible at math :) But once I figured that out, easy-peasy. I like that you can skip feedings or do one off feedings with just a few taps.2. The feeder communicates well with the app, as far as I can tell. I get alerts when his food his low, when the desiccant bag needs replacing, if the machine gets kicked offline, and if there is something stuck in the dispenser (this has happened once, with a piece of odd shaped kibble).3. It "fits" the kibble we feed our dog. I was worried the dispenser wouldn't be wide enough, but aside from one piece of kibble that was odd shaped, we've had no problems. For reference, he eats Purina one chicken and rice formula.I decided to try this when my husband found out he would be traveling for a bit and we needed a way to feed our dog lunch on the days I was working in the office. It's positively changed our routine in terms of other feedings, too. It used to be that our dog would whine for food outside our bedroom door starting around 5:30 am every morning. We tried everything to break him of this, but no luck. I set the schedule so that he gets one half of his breakfast at 4:45 am and the other half at 6:00 am. This has worked like a dream. Now, I usually have to wake him in the mornings when I get up, around 6:45 / 7:00 am. The food dispenser is relatively quiet and we keep it by our backdoor. So, I don't hear it when it goes off in the morning but my dog does. One nice, unexpected side effect is that it keeps him from inhaling his food because it dispenses slowly. If helpful to anyone: my dog is a med to large, about 60 lbs., lab/retriever mix.We haven't tried using the audio function so I can't comment on that (I noticed a few reviews said it doesn't work). I think the true test will be how long it lasts. I've had it almost 2 months and so far, so good, but I'm really hoping it lasts us a good long while. In the meantime, very pleased and recommend this to others.

This is a great product. It has been completely reliable and a great help keeping kitty fed. Much better than leaving a gigantic bowl of dry food out that gets dirty and spilled. Although most cats regulate their free feeding consumption if you cat is inclined to overeat this would address portion control. It is nice portioning out food a couple times during the day and the food is fresher than a gravity feed tower, as this tower is sealed and has a moisture absorber. Setup and scheduling was easy. The personalized call for food message is really a fun touch.

Good product. Works well and has not had any serious issues. Easy to set up. Only issue is the low food indicator on the unit and the app don't work. Trying to sort this out with manufacturer now.

These are perfect for the feeders. But these desiccant bags are rather large and they are effective for only two weeks????? I find that hard to believe. I change them every 21 days though I have read that in not-so-humid environments desiccant bags can last up to 2 years!!!!! The packaging on these desiccant bags by Petlibro is a plus! Each desiccant bag gets its own box, wrapped of course to keep it sealed, and they come in a box of 6. Since they fit right into the compartment in the feeders it couldn't be easier to use.
