Easy installation

This does exactly what it’s supposed to do and works well as part of the Ring Alarm system, but I personally preferred the look and shape of the first-generation sensor. The older version felt more like a traditional alarm sensor and seemed to sit more neatly into room corners. That said, performance-wise there’s nothing to complain about. Detection has been reliable, battery life has been decent, and setup through the app is quick and painless as you’d expect with Ring products. Overall, it’s a solid motion detector and does the job without fuss. I just slightly preferred the older aesthetic, but once it’s up on the wall you forget about that pretty quickly.

It is very good so I bought an additional ring motion detector to place in my shed - despite being outside and 25 meters away from my base station & wi-fi - has absolutely no connectivity problems and detects every single move! Important to mention is that I don't use the range extender that comes in the set with ring alarm, so connectivity is so good without any extender! Some other good stuff: Simple & Great functionality + safety features, including: - Nice, neat and clear event history - Mode settings that integrate with the Ring alarm Home, Away) - Motion settings (low / medium / high) detection designed especially for homes with pets. - You can enable/disable motion alerts with a simple toggle - You can switch on/off the motion detection light. Off is convenient if you wanna keep it unobserved, while on clearly helps to see when a motion is detected so you can look at the sensor and ensure it detected the motion and how fast. Not so good / TO NOTE: This is subjective, but for the amount of functionality I think this sensors have to be cheaper. They do one single job, yes they do it well, but if comparing with a ring internal camera for example - you get a lot more functionality than motion detection alone, by paying just slightly more. So definitely try to catch it on a good discount - they periodically appear. Overall, if you need a motion detection sensor for your ring system - this is a simple and reliable device which will live 2 years on two batteries, even with often motion detections. These are overpriced but they do work exactly as advertised. A replaceable and rechargeable lithium would be ideal for the cost. You should also consider leaving some space as it has to come off the back plate to swap the batteries so consider getting some new sticky pads or screwing it in. Easy to setup, scan qr code and add it then slap it on the wall with included sticky pads.

I'm loving these in my Ring alarm setup. These aren't your typical PIRs for house alarms, you can check the app and see when movement was last detected at any point. This has a multitude of uses, such as monitoring elderly I can clearly see my independent living dad is up and going about his day without invading his privacy with cameras or routine phone calls 'checking in' I also have one in my shed so it turns on a smart light via Alexa, and after 5 minutes of no motion detection to turn it off again & it works brilliantly. Can also setup Alerts etc while ive not set it up personally, a scenario like if you had a private area of your house perhaps in the west wing of your country estate - you can set it to alert you if motion is detected. And of course, you can arm your alarm system and trigger sirens etc, it also has settings for small/large pets which seem to work quite well, or you can disconnect the sensor from triggering the alarm all together and just use it as a smart sensor like I previously mentioned, Battery life is also excellent, mine are detecting movement many times a day and have been running for a year non stop and battery (according to indicator) is slightly below half. Only issue I've had is one using the adhesive one of my 3 sensors fell off the wall after 6 months, so I've resorted to fixing them with screws. So overall, a great bit of kit, big fan of the Ring alarm gear!

I have motion detectors in interior rooms rather than cameras. Ring make it so easy to set them up, just use the QR code and allocate a location to each one. Mine are not mounted on the walls, I have put them where they won't be seen/looked for but they will look for movement! They are part of my Ring Security System and have been grouped in the security system. You can group the devices for external alarms on as a protective barrier and internal alarms off when you are at home. You can configure your system to suit your needs, Ring makes it easy and straightforward to do.
