IT WORKS GREAT!!
Best product ever. I use this in my basement, on glue traps, in the barn (away from the animals), and it's cut way down on the mice I'm having to deal with! Rats are gone completely! The best part is they don't stink when they die after eating this! So I can get a little more use out of glue traps. The way to use it is to add some sunflower seed to the package and smear some peanut butter on it...poke a little hole, and pretend it's something you DON'T want the to get into. And they will gobble it up....and then they go to sleep in the ground somewhere and you're done with pests. And I no longer have to worry that my pets, or chickens or wildlife will be harmed by 'poison'...this stuff is just great. Highly recommend.

It just doesn't work
We didn't want to have collateral damage from using the anticoagulant poisons, so this product seemed perfect since the corn gluten only affects rats and mice. I spent over $140 on this stuff over the last month to no obvious positive end. First, they tend to ignore the pellets as delivered, so I needed to use a large dollop of hydrogenated peanut butter, working into each pound. I put it out at hole openings around my shed just after dark and again before going to bed. It was always totally eaten, but the number and size of the holes increased. My critter cam showed that they were eating it, but nevertheless I seemed to have more rats rather than fewer.I decided to try traps and order https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Infestation-Solutions-AntiRodent-Protection/dp/B01MZ19B3O which provided six really nifty traps for about $24 after tax. Tonight was the first night I deployed them, checking every hour and picking them up before I went to bed so that chipmunks and other creatures are not tempted before I could snag them in the morning. I killed EIGHT RATS in the span of four hours. I just completed the return of another $40 three-pound bag of this stuff. There seems to be some science behind the claims, but in practice this stuff just doesn't work. Get the mechanical traps.

The squirrels hate it
We live on 40 acres of forest land, and for some reason all the squirrels within several miles seemed to have converged on us. We didn't mind them in the forest, but they started burrowing underneath the house, the chicken coop, and a variety of other places, so we had to try something. This worked quite well; the squirrels have retreated to their normal habitat and everybody is happy -- except the squirrels who learned the hard way that they're not welcome in the immediate area of our house.

Rats won't eat the product as sold
Rats won't eat the product as sold. Hence1) I added peanut oil, some powdered sugar and sprinkled in peanuts and sunflower seeds -> rats ate most of it. But they learned and stopped eating it.2) I escalated to adding peanut butter besides peanut oil+sugar->rats licked the RatX sticks clean and threw them aside but some of the RatX was eaten.3) I tried grinding to mix with PB: it didn't work bc it is difficult to grind.4) I added condensed milk and peanut butter-> Ratx turned into a powder that the rats wouldn't touch. Threw away the powdery Ratx about 2 cups worth5) I went back to Ratx sticks with peanut oil, PB, sugar and I got exasperated so I slipped in some baking soda (supposedly another rodenticide) so that, if all they did was lick off the PB they would eat the baking soda. Rats didn't touch it. 6) Tonight, I took this untouched batch and added melted beef fat+ bacon fat + another blob of PB. I'll update as to whether it was eaten or not. Update: rats ate it.As to overall results: there has been a decrease in rat activity and 3 rats showed up dead. So far. I've gone through 3.5 lbs worth of RatX in ~3 weeks.Update: 1 more dead rat and activity in all tunnels stopped. No activity by the nest itself which is under my porch. So RatX did work although it took some work to have the rats eat it. I recommend the use of peanut oil+sugar and beef fat/bacon fat. It seemed to work best.

Two bags, two kills, too expensive!
I cannot adequately express my disappointment that RatX did not perform as I had hoped. I bought two 3 pound bags, followed all the instructions carefully, even made sure the bait was evenly distributed to make sure a few alpha rats did not hoard it, but only saw two dead rats over a two week period. Now maybe one or two more died in their burrows, as stated would happen, but there was no smell, and no noticeable decrease in the numbers of rats. (They are roof rats that come out at night and scamper along the barn rafters.) Honestly, if it wasn't so expensive, I would just leave some out all the time on the off chance it might kill a stray rat or two, but I will just have to wait until they lower the price. It's a new product on the market, so hopefully as their sales volume increases, they can reduce the price. I think in certain circumstances, this stuff may work; it might be more cost effective on mice, or if you just have a couple of rats in your house, for example. I loved the idea that you did not have to worry about secondary kills, like you do with any other bait. If you want to try it, you might want to buy some small zip lock bags like people use for beads or jewelry craftwork to put the bait in. (I ordered some on Amazon when I bought the RatX). I just poured the bait into a measuring cup and then poured it into the little bags, sealed them and put them everywhere the rats hung out. You don't have to worry about the moisture affecting the bait and the rats readily chew right through the plastic. I had no trouble with the rats eating it, they loved it! I hope you have better luck than I did. As for me, it's back to the drawing board....
