Was expecting too see naked flame,but the bulb itself is surrounded by a thin white film so does not give off the naked flame effect.x

I purchased these bulbs for Halloween for their flames effects, which look fairly realistic, although very orange in colour. What would make these bulbs even better is if the bulbs were dual/multi-coloured, so as to add a hint of yellow to the lower part of the flame to make it truly realistic.The bulb detects which way up it is, so the flame effect always rises which is a great feature.The main issue I have is the bulb’s three other modes ( all of which seem pointless ) and the way you have to turn the bulb on, then off, then back on again to switch between each mode.Having purchased four of these bulbs for my driveway, keeping all four bulbs synchronized ( displaying the flame effect ) has been problematic, especially as my driveway lights are controlled by movement sensors.All-in-all, they are a great bulb for Halloween, so I’m glad I purchased them.

The media could not be loaded. 4 light bulbs which offer a flame effect.The bulbs we have are Large screw in bulbs.What I do like is that the bulbs can detect which way up they are so the flame effect always rises. That's two of the four modes covered, then there are two other modes general light (orange in colour) and Breathing mode which looks quite soothing. These are done by turning off the light after 10 seconds and turning back on.As these are LED bulbs they are quite efficient at 4 Watts.

I SAY WITH THE CORRECT LAMPSHADE BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO HIDE 5inches ( 12.7cm ) OF BULB LENGTH ONCE SCREWED INTO THE LAMP. ADD ON THE LENGTH OF AN ADAPTER IF YOU INTEND TO INSERT THE BULB INTO A STANDARD BAYONET ADAPTER. THE BARE BULBS THEMSELVES DO LOOK QUITE UGLY WITHOUT A SHADE. I DO HAVE ONE LAMP THAT HAS NO SHADE THOUGH. WITH THEIR PLASTIC BULB COVER THEY ARE NOT AS ATTRACTIVE WITHOUT A LAMPSHADE. THERE ARE 4 DIFFERENT LIGHTING MODES ACCESSED BY FLICKING THE LAMP ON & OFF WITHIN 10 SECONDS WHEN YOU FIRST TURN THEM ON. THERE IS FLAME MODE, LIGHTING MODE, BREATHING MODE & GRAVITY MODE. MY PARTICULAR FAVOURITES ARE FLAME MODE AND GRAVITY MODE. I MUST ADMIT TO BEING A BIT OF A FAN OF THESE BULBS. THE EFFECTS REALLY ARE ATTRACTIVE. I AM UNSURE OF HOW MUCH THEY ARE GOING TO SELL THEM FOR WHEN THEY BECOME AVAILABLE AGAIN, BUT IF THEY CAN KEEP THE BOX OF 4 BULBS AT AROUND THE £20 ( $27.30 USD ) MARK THEN THEY WILL BE WORTH THE PRICE. AS FOR LONGEVITY, MINE ARE STILL GOING AFTER A MONTH OF REGULAR USE.
