Hoya55mm Alpha Multi-Coated UV Optical Glass Filter

Over the decades I have always protected my lens with Hoya filters. Back in college I worked in a camera store and sold Hoya filters. Some of my customers would come in and thank me for selling them the filter’s because it saved their expensive lens from destruction. I could see firsthand how the metal ring took the brunt of the impact.

I have been using Hoya filters for many, many years and have never had an issue with any of the ones I used.They are excellent and good value for the money.

This glass filter is solidly built and threads on the front of the lens very nicely. Hoya has such a bewildering array of filter choices, so I picked one that I thought was reasonably priced. I mainly use this to protect the front glass of my lens. A filter is way cheaper to replace than a Canon DSLR lens.
