How do you replace the mechanical pencil? I mean how to insert a new pencil lead.

To add lead to the pencil lead to the mechanical pencil you must remove the front half of the barrel. This will expose the two pens and the pencil itself. You will have to remove the pencil by pulling it gently from the body of the pen. Once you have removed the pencil, there is a hole in the back into which the lead is to be inserted. Once you have inserted the lead you re-install the pencil into the body and reassemble the body of the pen. You probably don't want to put more than three pieces of lead into the pencil. Any more and it might not function well. I hope this helps.

Unless it's a very dark blue, the ink looks black. If you look at the last image in the listing (with the pen in hand) you can see the label on the barrel for the pen position indicating "black".

How do you switch between the 3 different writing utensils? Do you twist the barrel?
