DEWALT Drill Chuck for Impact Driver, Quick Connect (DW0521)

The chuck is nice quality for the price. It does however wobble a bit. Not the chuck holding the bit, but the design of the impact. The impact holds the chuck itself loosely. When you hold a screwdriver bit it will wobble or move a bit in the impact...well that will be the same for the chuck. It's not that bad. It just won't be as rigid as an actual drill. It works great in a pinch if you are only drilling a few holes. If you have a lot of holes to drill just use a normal drill.

This works great. Holds bits tighter than my drill does for sure!The best part it lightens my tool bag a lot because I can now take my bit drill out of the tool bag.

The instructions say to insert the bit, hold the chuck and then let it ratchet a few times when tightening. I did that, but the drill bit still likes to pop out anyway. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. I love being able to use any drill bit with my battery powered drill.

I just bought the Dewalt battery impact drill. I wanted the chuck to go with it for standard drills and holes saws. I went on line, found this, and bought it. I couldn't get it to work properly, so I read the directions. Please don't tell anybody. I learned that this chuck is designed specifically for an impact drill. I was trying to install bits like it was a conventional chuck. Turns out, the impact function of the drill activates the clamping mechanism in the chuck. It works really well! I recommend this.

INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE GETTING BIT STUCK OR UNTHREATENING THE ARBOR.So common sense would dictate this is obviously not a single solid cast or machined peace but rather multiple components assembled together to create a very handy keyless drill chuck that ready locks in to your impact driver. As such the arbor is threaded into the rear of the chuck that being said when used with an impact driver you can over tighten the locking ring of the chuck (black ring) to a point that it's tighter than the threads of the arbor that go into the rear of the chuck.Two simple FIXES! If you do manage to unthread the arbor simply apply a dab of red Loctite or even super glue or nail polish reinstall the arbor securely into the rear of the chuck then let it cure. Now use it as normal and get back to work.In the event that your chuck is still torque to a greater spec than you can manage to loosen with your attached impact driver just add leverage to solve your problem put a pipe wrench or channel locks or bench vise pretty much whatever you have handy on the silver forend and another pipe wrench or vise grips on the black ring turn the wrenchs opposite of each other to loosen the bit and now you're back in business simple fix no need to return it or assume you lost a drill bit to the cuck it's a very simple keyless chuck that plugs into an impact driver not much to it (same goes for the Dewalt or Makita version I use both) .Always remember the 10 percent rule! Ya gotta be 10 percent smarter than the tool your using.

I ordered this product and tried to use it the first time approximately 45 days after I ordered it. I had originally purchased it to be used at a deer lease to repair some corn feeder legs. I locked the tool into the drill and tried to lock a drill bit into the chuck and it stuck and would not turn. I tried to send it back but they would not allow me to return it to Amazon. I will never buy another Dewalt product ever. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!

Gonna keep this short - three serious issues to mention:1. Because of the torque threshold of an impact driver, you cannot tighten your drill-bits beyond that threshold. Unless you can manage to find a way to do it manually, which I have not. Maybe my fingers are too large to get a grip on both parts of the chuck? I believe you may be able to use a hex-key to secure the bit, but I'm a big fan of quick connectors and fast-bit swapping, and do not like carrying around 10 different keys for 10 different tools.2. My Dewalt impact driver engages a fast-break action when you release the trigger, stopping the drill-spin almost instantly. I'm not sure how unique this feature is between other brands/models, but will assume most impact drivers employ it. When the auto-break engages, the reverse-angle velocity of the break loosens the chuck's grip on the bit. So every 1 to 5 spins of the drill, your bit will fall out of the chuck, likely into some tiny hole of the device you're building, never to be seen again.3. The shaft (the part the drill holds onto) will come unthreaded from the chuck (the part that grips the bit), and will never work correctly again until you super-glue it back in. However, this issue was very easily fixed with super-glue for me, and has not caused nearly as much grief as problems 1+2.The only method I've found to get around problem #2 (mostly caused by problem #1), apart from using a hex-key (if that is possible) is to manually release the trigger gradually, to avoid engaging the auto-break. This sounds like a simple thing to do, but it is not. The break engages very easily, so you have to release the trigger very gradually in order to avoid it.Finally, a tip to the manufacturer: Please redesign this chuck to better allow manual tightening of bits with your hands. Or redesign it to allow tightening bits without turning the chuck at all, if that is possible.

Comprei a parafusadeira de impacto e várias brocas. Porém, não verifiquei se o encaixe das brocas e so percebi quando chegaram ambos que não batia. Esse adaptador serviu bem. Contudo, me parece que a broca fica meio frouxa. Não cheguei a testar na parede
