CrownTools DK Straight Draw Knife

The draw knife has a good feel and the steel doesn't flex. It's probably not sharp enough to even de-bark with the edge is easily visible, a good 1/64 inch, and grind marks also in the beveled edge. Tried it on a piece of dry pine wood and it would barely cut. It will take a little work to get a razor edge which is what I need for my work. Hopefully once sharpened, it will hold an edge.Update: Sharpened this drawknife down to an 8,000 grit wet stone and stropped. Got a nice edge but after shaping about three feet of green (wet) maple to carve spoons, the edge is gone and needs sharpened again. It would be good for just debarking but not for shaping split pieces of green wood to carve spoons. Lesson learned and hunting for a drawknife with better steel.
