It's probably familiarity, but this is much better than a madeleine because it's stable on the plate. It's simple and easier than pulling out the food processor. It even fits in my knife drawer. I imagine it would be very easy to cut yourself if you aren't used to it. I'd suggest no-cut-gloves. It does come with a pusher (which I don't use).

My wife really likes this cutter. She says that it is easy to use and cuts a variety of size’s.

This is my third Feemster's slicer- over the course of 40 years! The old one got a little dull so I decided to get a new one.My only bone to pick is that this new one is a little harder to adjust the thickness of the slice than the old ones were. I expect it to loosen up over time, so probably no big deal.I have tried several different mandoline slicers without success, and continue to come back to this basic and inexpensive tool. Slicing onions is effortless, and if you run mushrooms at a bit of a diagonal push this is sharp enough to slice those too (unless they're really "ripe"). Carrots, celery, you name it, works great! I even use it to get very thin slices of garlic (e.g. for pizza).This is a must have in your kitchen!

It is an excellent tool, my first one was 36 years ago and still using,at that time they cost 4.19. This one is for just in case. There the best that I have ever found.

Works well. Not as easy to adjust to a thicker cut as I had hoped but it works. Thin slicing is excellent.

For decades we had one but lost it. I suppose new international laws have kept the former sharp tool into not beig able to slice tomatoes any more even new. It tears the tomatoes flesh instead of slicing through it

Very difficult to change the width of the blade.

I grew up with this very specific design slicer my entire life. It is small, always available and never needs to be sharpened. When I received yours, it is a more polished version of my Old one. The blade is sharp.The safety features are very Logical. And if it holds up like my original one, it will last for decades. Perfection, Thanks
