I Crimp with a tool then, soldering them and it makes for a much more professional look and assures a good lasting connection for high amp draws. I have tried, crimping the wire in them in a vise or hammer and they held either way but the best is to crimp. The kit has enough ends for many small projects, the heat shrink tubing is good and they are heavy enough to not be cheaply made. Surprisingly they did not discolor on soldering them on. All in all they work well. The wire fit inside of them pretty well but I would think a thicker wire of the rated gauge may be tight. The pic is not a great one but you get the idea.

Lugs are good quality. Shrink tube is durable.

Heavy duty connectors with double wall heat shrink covers for the terminals. They are being used in my off grid cabin and work great.

Used various sizes of these when I redid the energy system in my coach RV. They are pure copper and they are solid. Easy to use and the heat shrink is great. Good connections.

Did the job.Liked the shrink wrap. Worked with all, even my #6 connections. Shrunk down and oozed glue every time.
