Simple and easy to understand without the need for exotic ingredients or running to the store to buy multiple ingredients you’ll probably end up throwing away eventually.

I bought the kindle version and it’s not good. You have to scroll through hundreds of pages to find the recipes. It’s laid out poorly. Should have allowed to tap on chapters and then drill down. Instead it lists chapter 1 sauces and you must scroll thru all the sauces before you get to see what chapter 2 covers. It’s the same for every chapter.

There is a ton of recipes in this book - but no pictures inside. The cover has nice photos. There are a lot of really great recipes in here, but... I could have found them online for what it's worth.The problem is the index. If you're looking for say... sweet potato fries... it will NOT be under "Sweet Potato Fries". It'll be under "Spiced Sweet Potato Fries". For some bizarre reason, whoever did the index never learned how to do a proper index. It's impossible to find anything quickly. What I had to do was go through the whole book and put a post-it note sticking out where the recipes are that I wish to use. They ARE sorted in some categories (meat, chicken, seafood, desserts, vegetables, sides, etc.) but still... sweet potato fries could have been in either vegetables (since it is one, hello), or in sides. It's in sides.It's just aggravating to have a cookbook see unorganized this way. I wish I'd read more of the reviews because others pointed this out already. Ah well. I'll still use it, but it's not very handy. It does have some good tips and LOTS of recipes, so it's not a one-star... just a three-star for aggravating me too much and not being easy to use and no pictures. I would have paid more for a book that had pictures of the finished recipe AND a working index.
