Good story that inspires artwork and writing. My class are getting lots of information about the life of Naima and the issues facing her. Have found this useful for explanations, stories from other cultures and debating issues. Great book - really recommend it.

This is a wonderful book that my 9 year old daughter and I both read at the same time. The details are phenomenal and really paint a vivid picture in your head of what is happening in the book. We both enjoyed the sweet story. I look forward to reading more from Mitali Perkins!

I am a class teacher and used this book as an introduction to stories from other cultures. The children really engaged with story and it was easy for them to follow and relate to.The story is well written and really gets across how the author feels about the subject matter.

Fantastic story about a young girl who desperately wants to help her family. You will learn about the culture of Bangladesh as well as many wonderful life lessons along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to sharing it with my class.
