Very Good Updated Version
This is a nice easy to read updated version of Jonathan Edwards' book. The paperback is a nice size and a good version.

To live to the ultimate glory of God.
How often in our walking out as a Christ follower do we endeavor to do so without regard for God's ultimate glory. If we do not, then we readily lapse into idolatry.

His glory and the happiness of His people are inseparable.
We tend to think of those seeking glory as egotistical. Pastor, missionary, and theologian Jonathan Edwards makes the case that God’s love and promotion of His own glory is the expression and sharing of who He is, to the infinite happiness - indeed, the infinite increase in happiness - of those who love and admire Him.A must-read for every Christian.

I tried.
I tried, I really tried.... and I'm sure there is much wisdom to be had here, but I just couldn't wrap my head around the verbiage of this book.I felt like the writer enjoyed using 8 paragraphs of convoluted language to make a point that could've often been made in a few sentences. I stuck it out for 4 chapters and realized I wasn't a good fit for this book.Good luck if you decide to give it a go!

Very enjoyable book
The updated wording makes the book very easy to read. The book itself is a must-read for every Christian and puts the entire world into a more accurate perspective.

Edwards for all
At first I thought a re write was not necessary but the author has done a fine job of presenting Edwards for us. I highly recommend this book and I have read it twice already . Something I did not know was that their is a companion dissertation called Virtue that should be read with this book by Edwards and he wrote them together .. I am just a regular christian trying to understand and grasp the Word of God and this book was very helpful and is a must read for all.

Good Thinking herein!
Very well thought out arguments! Edwards still ranks as the foremost Christian Thinker in the New World... and in the to{?handful around the world across time.

Embracing the truths in this book will transform your theology.
The truths in this book have majorly influenced my theology, teaching, and preaching. After reading this book, I am more accutely aware of the frequency in which the scriptures reveal that God's own glory is at the center of His purpose. Since God is the Supreme being of the universe, for Him to pursue any lesser purpose other than His own, would be idolatrous.

Five Stars
An Excellent update in modern English. Does not lose the original intent of Edwards.

understandable Edwards
I’ve been reading the original works of Edwards, and whereas I can understand large chunks at times, like many, I have windows where I struggle to catch his drift or quite follow his line of thought. This book however does a fantastic job in really clarifying and simplifying Edwards logic without compromising any of the great man’s thinking. It translates Edwards in his own words as opposed to merely summarising his thoughts. For those who love Edwards, I’d strongly recommend it. My only regret is that Dollar didn’t go on and produce a few more books similar to this! It would have been nice to have a collection of such updates of other books of Edwards.

Nice rework of the english, thought provoking philosophy
The english is nicely rendered; very easy to read without losing any of the original punch. As you read this you'll be stunned every time you re-realise Edwards lived in the 1700s, such is the level of the thought presented.Good book, well laid out, will get most theological/philosopher scholars thinking I reckon. (I didn't agree with Edwards on all points, but he made me think about them!)
